    Same beer, 2 buckets, Mix?

You'll be fine mixing right before bottling if you want a single style of beer. Since you've already got a split batch, you could add some additional hops to one bucket and get two slightly different styles.

    Mother in laws!?

Yeah, but my wife is smart _and_ good looking :-)

    Mother in laws!?

Personally, I find that MIL's have too much tannin and astringency for my taste. I prefer to use them as mulch on my hops.

    Equipment cleaning OOOOPS!!

Anything that can fit in the dishwasher should go in without soap. Anything that can't, put a hose in and let it run. Rinsing is the only solution.

    Mother in laws!?

You've got to talk with your wife. Communication seems like a continuing problem in your relationship. Bring 12 roses. Look from one to the other. Take 1 rose out of bunch, give to MIL, a kiss on the cheek and whisper "do you want grandkids?" Give other 11 to wife, kiss her passionately and...

The five things old homebrew me would pass to new homebrew me:

    7. Start younger. 8. Brew more often.

How many batches before you (mostly) quit screwing up?

Define "screw up". If it means have drinkable beer at the end of the process, I'd say it's possible to never screw up (I screwed up once in 22 years by this definition) Have a brew day come out exactly as I imagine it in my mind? I'd have to say never--I have a pretty active imagination...

Low Effeciency for Russian Imperial Stout

Efficiency always suffers for high gravity beers. Sugar moves from where there is a lot (grain) to where there is less (sparge water). The difference between the amount in the grain and the amount in the water dictates how fast the sugar moves from the grain to the water. The first portion...

Why am I not getting any head?

You're getting screwed and you're worried about getting head? Someone's priorities are whacked. Seriously, the temp. shouldn't really be a problem. You eventually got carbonation, so my guess is you just had to wait. I doubt moving them to the floor made any difference.

You know you're a home brewer when?

When a friend converted to a tankless water heater, thought his old water heater might make a good HLT. Or at least I could use the burner if I mounted it to a stand.

Do you wear shorts when flying??

I stopped worrying about being rude when they started making me take my shoes off in security. Now I do what is easiest for me--clothing with no metal, only plastic. Cell phone, no keys, no metal coins. Sandals that are easy to remove, t-shirt. I may stow a jacket in my carry-on if I'm going...

Do I need a loveseat and chair in my living room?

If you have a spare shed, you _could_ build a chick room to keep all of your date-related equipment. Be sure to post the build to pinterest. :)

Do I need a loveseat and chair in my living room?

I'd go for the camping furniture and get rid of the other stuff. Kind of girl you're going to mesh with will appreciate the keezer more than the "love seat" :mug:

    Beer in regulator.

As long as the pressure in your line is higher than the pressure in the keg, you shouldn't get any beer in your gas line. I have always attached my gas to the gas in and turned the keg upside down to carbonate but I may have to try your way. Even upside down, I've never had any back flow.

Indoor brewing with no vent hood

(Off topic) Chemistry can be used to explain (almost) anything. Guess what I do for a living?

Indoor brewing with no vent hood

1 gallon is a _lot_ of water to have in the air. 18 mL of water expands to 22.4 L when it turns into steam. 1 gallon = 3785.41 mL. this turns into almost 1,245 gallons of water vapor. I'd open the windows and use a fan to get rid of the steam.

Does CO2 have a bittering Agent Added? Does it affect beer taste?

To my knowledge, CO2 cylinders only contain CO2. As for why we use it--I agree with b-boy. Yeast produce CO2. Do we have to be stuck with this gas? Heck no. You can nitrogenate or even dissolve H2 gas in there if you want.
