Yeah, that sucks. Not much worse than a late season snow storm.

But the beauty of the zipper method in areas that it is the norm (such as New Jersey) is that there is no empty lane to drive all the way to the end before barging in front of some poor poor sap. Both lanes fill and traffic flows. It may flow slower, but it flows and everyone gets past the choke...

Yes. This.^^^ When I have traveled through places that this is common, traffic moves so much better at choke points. Both lanes move and there is no reason to switch lanes and no road rage. I wish that people all over the country would adopt the zipper method.

This Really Annoys Me Pet Peeve Thread

You guys have never driven through a strange city? Even with GPS or Maps, exits sneak up, have merge lanes coming into them, change from two to one lane etc. Lanes become "exit only" lanes with little or no warning. Exits are on opposite sides of the road than expected. There are dozens of...

Yep. That guy that has had his turn signal on for a mile and a half but nobody will let him in? Screw him for not planning his drive better. This is MY ****ing city and I'm not letting some confused guy into my lane! Yep. He should take his eyes off the road and look at his GPS and Maps, even...

    Tile over cement and brick?

More stuff to think about. Ha! It will probably be a while before I get to doing this. Gives me some time to think about it. The main thing is that you all reinforced that it is a doable job-one that I feel that I can handle.

    Tile over cement and brick?

That is what I as thinking of doing when I first looked at it. I thought I would fill in under the overhang of brick and then tile the face as well as the surface of the porch. Not sure what I am going to do, now. Ha!

    Tile over cement and brick?

No standing water, but the gable where roof and porch meet directs the rain water to a spot right next to the porch and splashes the hell out of the porch on that side. I had to redirect the water in a couple of other places to keep it from running down the side of the house. I haven't...

    Tile over cement and brick?

Ok, Thanks. When I get around to doing the job, I'll use the Ditra. I like the idea of the tapered grout line, but the brick looks bad and is in pretty bad shape. Pieces are broken off and there are a lot of chips. I guess, I could remove it and replace it. Not sure I'm capable, though

    Tile over cement and brick?

Do you guys recommend using membrane that you lay on thinset rather than peel and stick ( I'm getting that vibe ;))

    Tile over cement and brick?

Ok, fellow Home Brewers, do it yourselfers and anyone that may have input. My front porch is looking pretty rough and I was thinking that maybe I would tile it. The problem is that it is cement that is cracking some and has a brick border. Can I tile over both surfaces? Obviously it needs to...

    GOOD on Netflix STREAMING?

I watched on what ever network it was on. I liked it enough to hope for a second season. I heard an interview with the author of the books, Joe K. Landsdale, one day and they talked about the upcoming series. It sounded good so I checked it out. I bet the books are better I just checked it...

    Jalapeño Wheat - 5 gallons

Just messing with you. I think chili beer is an abomination Chilis with beer? Good. Chilis in beer? Bad. Of course, that is nothing more than an opinion. :mug:

    Jalapeño Wheat - 5 gallons

Take the jalapenos, seed them and chop them into 1/8" dice. Then throw them into a pot of chili so you don't wreck a decent beer. ;)
