Local brewery allows employees to smoke while brewing...

Local brewery allows employees to smoke while brewing...

OMG!!! He touched his mouth!!!! Smoking while working in a brewery is probably against health regulations and certainly is not good for business. If it bothers you, don't go there, call the health department, tell your neighbors, hide you wimmin and chillens, whatever. But FFS, get over it...

Local brewery allows employees to smoke while brewing...

I think the working side of the brewery, even if it is only separated by glass from the public area, is not a public place. Not sure if there is a smoke-free workplace law in TN, though.

But if I take a 15 minute dump on your time every day, it amounts to 62.5 hours over a 50 week year. Hell, I finagled another week of vacation. ;)

Local brewery allows employees to smoke while brewing...

For those of you that are appalled at this, what is the problem with it? Is smoke going to get into the beer? Ashes? I'll bet there are a lot things worse than the ash from a cigarette that get into the mash tun and I doubt that there is a health issue. Are you just butthurt because, Smoking! I...

    Minneapolis Brew Pub?

Hey all. I am going to be in Minneapolis for a day on my way through to a canoe trip in the Quetico Provincial Park. I will be with three adults and a 15 and 20 year old. We will be picking up a couple more people at the airport on Monday and heading north, but we have Sunday night to get a...

Optimal 2 roller mill gap for mashing in converted cooler with braid

I use a spray bottle of water, spray a little, mix it up with my hands, spray a little more, mix a little more, etc. The cool kids say to mix 3.2 oz per 10 lbs of grain. https://www.brewersfriend.com/2010/01/16/malt-conditioning/ You will want to add 2% of the weight of the malt bill, in water...

Yep. A good grin and a decent review of a beer at the end. Nice job!

Optimal 2 roller mill gap for mashing in converted cooler with braid

Yep. I learned the hard way ;) If I am on top of my game (rarely) I condition the grain the night before and mill it in the morning. It really made a difference in my efficiency. It is worth the effort, for sure.

Optimal 2 roller mill gap for mashing in converted cooler with braid

Agree on conditioning. You just have to be careful that you don't add too much water. If the grain is too wet, you will gum up your mill and it takes some work to get it clean again.
