    Yet another first AG story

Alright! I feel good. 4 extracts under my belt, and now 1 AG! I used Ed Wort's Haus ale recipe and right now it's going crazy (fermented in less than 12 hours). I missed the og by a few points (1.048 was my final) and I ended up with a bit less than 5 gallons (I'd say i was off by 1/2...

    Practical, or a money grabber?

Someone spammed a Facebook group with this product. I think it's just a waste of money. http://sedexbrewing.com/

    Gluten Free Brewing Observations

I think my next batch will be a sorghum beer so i'll throw up a recipe when it's time! Most likely will use frozen fruit since nothing is in season yet. Does sorghum itself lend a light colored beer, or does it come out brown/heavy?

    Gluten Free Brewing Observations

How would fruit go with this recipe? I have a friend with celiac's as well and she loves wine. She would be interested in how it would taste with Rasperries, etc. It'd get her to try some decent beer for a change.

fresh keg, no space in fridge - okay to seal and let sit?

Does it matter at which PSI you pressurize and seal the keg? Pressure inhibits yeast activity, correct? I'd like to age and store my Cider in a keg so I can free up a secondary.

    Potted Hops/Limited Space

How long can you leave hop plants inside a clay pot? Just wondering, since I have a few rhizomes but I certainly do not plan on staying at my apartment for 5 years. Ideally, I would plant them, then the next time I go to my parent's house i'll plant them permanently there.

What do I train my hop bines onto?

lol, very nice :) I have some Butcher's twine... though it is skinny, would it still work if I intertwined them a bit to thicken the rope?

    Caramel apple cider

Watch out for the syrups, I received a lot of flavorings and syrups from an old friend of mine and I can't use them because they contain Potassium Sorbate. I'm sure you can get around it but naturally the Potassium inhibits yeast activity (or so i've heard)

    Caramel apple cider

I thought about that but i'm assuming you'll need to caramelize some kind of sugar that will impact the flavor... perhaps Demerara? I plan on experimenting with this process soon.

    Rhizomes Ordered

I ordered last night as well... Cascade, Mt Hood and Willamette. Seems like they still have a good supply here: www.freshops.com

    Bacon Vodka

I'm going to try this vodka... although I won't be going through the big process. I found a nice shortcut: Or maybe I want it a little different? :drunk: I love working with flavors :D

    Wort seems to have seperated...

Heh, for a second I believed ya :) Checked this morning, it looks like the yeast is slowly breaking it down. :ban:

    Wort seems to have seperated...

Oh I apologize, i had the recipe posted on a previous topic of mine (thanks again Bradsul!) https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=60797 I did not end up adding chocolate to the boil, nor the Vanilla. Only grains, DME, Hops, and British Ale yeast. Temp was around 63F. Steeped...
