Can you Brew It recipe for Firestone Walker Union Jack

Racked my batch to the secondary last night and to my surprise, a gravity reading of 1.007! I'm looking at nearly 11% ABV, what happened? I am also curious to know if hop particulate could affect the gravity reading. I had a ton when I took my OG reading. After I racked, I had about 5-6 inches...

Can you Brew It recipe for Firestone Walker Union Jack

unfortunately my LHBS didn't have the 002 in stock so I had to mail order it. I think that due to the 115F heat indexes this summer killed it. I made a starter and 24 hours later I had no activity whatsoever. Let me know how the yeast harvest goes, I'd really be interested in that. I agree...

    Post Boil Gravity

I'll have to take a look thanks! As far as my samples, my pre boil was cooled in the fridge to exactly 60F and my post boil was closer to 64F and I used an online calculator to adjust for a correction. Perhaps my post boil sample wasn't mixed very well. Any suggestions for future brews? I...

    Post Boil Gravity

So I just brewed my first all grain yesterday. I took a pre-boil reading and got 1.058, my post boil reading was 1.054, am I wrong or is this a little counterintuitive?

    Propane Usage

I know the answers to this thread will vary from person to person/system to sytem, but I'm curious to know how many brew days does a tank of propane get you? Do you heat up all your water with a propane burner? or do you use the stove, and then only the propane burner for the boil?
