    Dumb Question of the Day!

I would start the 60 minutes at the first hop addition though. Additionaly, I would wait for the foam (or hotbreak) to subside after reaching your boil before adding the first hop addition. This will help reduce the chance for boil-overs.

    building a hops set up

Ahh, gotcha. The flower box idea might not be too bad if you were to horizontaly place a few holy PVC pipes it the soil a foot or so down, leading to the outside of the box to aid in drainage. The box would help combat gophers too.

I picked up a 7.5 gal (30 qt.) turkey frier from Home Depot for around 100 bucks. Its aluminum so I only like to use it for a HLT. I use 2 kegs for my MLT & Boil kettle. They rest over the burner. Ive done 10 gallon batches on it with out any issues.

    Calling All Metal Fans

Hey guys, I have a Carvin BX500 Head (BASS) I bought less than a year ago and when I play super low notes it crackles. I switched cables and changed the battery in my bass. The head has a tube built in preamp. Any experience with this kind of issue? Could it be a bad tube?

    Boiling DME

I agree. But just to be sure, you want to boil for long enough to allow your hop additions to make it into the flavor of the beer. Did you; heat the water, shut off the flame to stir in the DME, get the wort to a boil, then add hops for ruffly an hour long boil?

I have no experience with green houses. I do know that the hop bine explosion of growth is triggured by the long summer days. (Not as simple as photosynthesis but some soart of photoreaction). Does the greenhouse material allow enough light through to achieve this? Also, make sure to provide...
