10 gallon Gott MLT with SS 16" braid. OK - 4 batches in to my AG brewing. 3 troublesome runoffs.. Not sure if its just my lack of experience, my technique or my milling... Using MaltMill set at .045. English style bitter - no issues with runoff Cream ale - nightmare runoff Wit - bad...

    Wit taking forever to ferment

Pretty high gravity Wit made with 4 lbs of flaked wheat and 4 lbs of pale. Around .51 OG. Used White Labs Wit yeast...cant remember the strain. Before pitching i swirled the wort in the carboy until it was nice and foamy - swirled for prob a few minutes. Pitched a bit warm...it was a hot...

What type of braid configurations do you use in your cooler MLT?

In all honesty..the collapse of the mesh was totally my fault. I prob whacked it with the mash paddle (first time using my new 3' self made oak paddle). I could probably never run into this issue again but after last weekend, i never want to experience that aggravation again. (See my other...

Need advice on order that i am placing at North Country Malt

menschmaschine - Yep - I'm ordering a few specialty grains in smaller amounts. The MO i ordered in bulk as my "base" cd2448: I just purchased the Schmidling "Malt Mill". I'm buying in bulk uncrushed - then storing in one of those big Rubbermaid storage containers in a dark corner of my...

What type of braid configurations do you use in your cooler MLT?

I have a 10 gallon cooler that i have converted via FlyGuys's article. I am about to tweak it by inserting a compression spring to keep it from collapsing via the article by nostalgia. Do you guys just allow it to lay in a relatively straight line on the floor of your MLT or do you guys make a...

ok -i dumped a batch! And i'm feeling much remorse.. Tried my hand at a Wit yesterday.. Thought i had made "Mash Mud". Tried everything to free it to no avail. I even tried manually sparging with strainer...yea..alot of fun. It's 4:30 at this point and my 2 year old is up from nap and my...
