"Guilty" confessions of a beer enthusiast

I am crying this awesome. Exactly what temp do you ferment your vomit and do you notice better clarity when you cold crash it.
  4. FoulMouth

    The beer fault list?

Why is it that there is a fault list for possible things wrong with a beer, yet when judging traces of the flaw are acceptible while others types are not suppose to be there. I understand every beer has its own characteristic, but if they are faults then why are they ok.

    Kegging question.

So copperpots you would say a reg for every keg so to speak.
  6. FoulMouth

    Kegging question.

I read up more on cold crashing is it worth it for clarity or more so for allowing the beer to carbonate more quickly.

    Just finished fermentation chest.

I live in cape cod and my basement in the winter can get below 60 degrees. So in order to keep my brewing set up all together i built this to maintain closer to 70 for ales.

    Kegging question.

Thanks for the info. I was just hoping that by going to kegging i would save more time in the waiting game, but 2 weeks is pretty good.

  16. FoulMouth

    Just finished fermentation chest.

I was looking into a chest to control my temps for my ales and started looking. I found any easy idea of just insulated board sheathing and building a box to hold one or maybe two carboys. I can not just have two going i wanted up to eight. I called some wood workers and got quotes for 580 -...

Cooler and liabilty for using hot liquid

I have seen coolers being sold online at brew shops but were $85 which is stupid.

Cooler and liabilty for using hot liquid

Thank you that makes sense if they sold the coolers as coolers wink, wink then if would have a better chance or even post a warning from rubbermaid.
  19. FoulMouth

Cooler and liabilty for using hot liquid

Yeah a cup of coffee not labeled hot is not stupid yet won someone millions. People do stupid things i understand but, if the makers say no and i sell it saying yes how are the brew shops not liable. This is extreme but if i sell a blender and say do no put your hand in the thing but the store i...

Cooler and liabilty for using hot liquid

I know this has been brought up but would the small home brew supply stores be in trouble if the was any problems using the cooler systems? The cooler companies like rubbermaid tell you not to use it for hot liquids no questions. So if the cooler company is covering their butts then the small...
