    Fringe benefits of your job

I work at a hotel right in the inner harbor. I pay for my pass but it does come in handy when going out DT. As a hotel employee I can travel pretty cheap which is nice. I went to a gorgeous resort in Phuket Thailand for $84 a night. Anyone else would be paying $300+.

Breweries to visit in the DC area?

Flying dog is in Fredrick which is a little north of DC. Then there is also Heavy Seas which is just south of Baltimore.

My brother got a DUI. I need advice from those with "experience"...

If you refuse to blow, you are automatically arrested and taken to jail where they WILL do a blood test on you. You don't help yourself out at all, and when it gets put on paper, it looks like you were uncooperative from the word go. I got a DUI in PA 12 years ago when I was 19. I got a...

    Gordon Biersch

GB opened not to long ago in Baltimore. I don't know if it is just this one or all of them but their garlic fries are awesome. When you walk in that's all you smell. It is difficult not getting them as an app. FWIW I don't think there beer is the greatest.

    Ranch with Wings?

Ranch all the way. It is typically a little thinner than blue cheese so it coats the wing better. The new trend should be to replace the celery stix with mozzarella stix.

Where to buy beer? NJ and NY

Not exactly answering your question but triumph in downtown princeton is a great place. If you want to take some back to your hotel they sell growlers.

    Baltimore, MD pubs, bars, restaurants.

This is in the old canton station building which also had the Natty Boh lounge. This reminds me to suggest trying at least on Natty while in town. You won't be overly impressed with it but Boh is our unofficial mascot.

    Baltimore, MD pubs, bars, restaurants.

Ale Mary's is very chill. Their cuisine centers around tater tots which is becoming a Baltimore obsession for some reason. If you go there try the resurrection which is a local favorite and brewed at the brewers art in Charles village. Across the street is bad decisions which is the worst place...

Maxs in fells point has 100 on tap and probably 400 bottles. I would start there and explore that neighborhood. A few miles away is Hudson street stack house which has about 30 taps and is always the first in the city to have troegs mad elf( my favorite winter beer). Mahaffeys which is 200 yards...

    Irish Moss

When you use it the first time your wort is going to looking really strange as opposed to what you may be used to. The Irish moss as I understand groups proteins together. This is what clears it in the end but also makes it look like you have huge chunks of stuff floating around. It reminds me...

    "The Wire"...

You must not live in Pig Town west of Washington blvd. I don't think you would be "ambling" around the neighborhood of you did. Unless you needed some Crown Fried Chicken and some smack.

    Harvesting yeast question

Alright last question as you seem to know your crap. If I don't want to brew that same day can I transfer all of the trub and yeast into a clean growler and just dump it in my fermenter next brew day?

    Harvesting yeast question

So I was just watching a YouTube video on how to harvest yeast and saw these guys do something I would like to get feedback on. They racked their beer into secondary like normal. Then they poured their brand new cooled wort for the next batch right onto the yeast cake, trub and all. I have...

I think they're hot, but you probably don't

Yesterday on PTI Mike Wilbon said in movies Anne Hathaway "takes her shirt off faster than Mathew McConahey". It was funny as hell how he said it and more funny now when I read this post.

    culinary adventures

On my honeymoon in Thailand I tried durian. I bought it from a road side stand in Phuket and brought it into our taxi. Within seconds I was sticking it out the window until we got where we were going. It had the consistency of rotten mushy bananas and tasted horrible. I was about to toss it when...

    what to do in philly?

My wife is a hygienist. She is definitely the bread winner so good luck with being a trophy husband. It's amazing how much they make working 30 hours a week.
