    Stc-1000 reviews

That is the only issue I have but it is so minor it isn't really a problem.

    What's in your fermenter(s)?

27 gallons of an Ember Ale....

how big is your water choice?

Most micro breweries use municipal water run through carbon filters. Most big breweries use distilled water with minerals added back in so all of their breweries use the exact same water profile even in other countries.

    Upgrading to 10 gal batches

All you need now is a mash tun to start all grain brewing.

Most annoying response when you tell someone you're a homebrewer?

I get that a lot. I hand someone a Pale Ale and they tell me it tastes like guinness.

Did I just ruin my batch with olive oil?

I could see that being a problem in a brewery but in the home brew scale where 5 gallons lasts two to three weeks it is gone before any staling could occur. I think you are correct about the yeast propagation.

Is my chest freezer about to die on me?

That 1 degree differential is probably what did it in, they don't like to be cycled like that.

    Glass Front Fermentation Chamber?

That's what I use and I added 1/2" foam to the door. Since it is used for fermentation it doesn't use a lot of electricity anyways. This is without the foam.... With the foam.....

    Is this worth the money?

You could build it for less but is your time worth the $$? Building it yourself will be about $200 - $300 cheaper.

Most annoying response when you tell someone you're a homebrewer?

What gets me are the people who tell me they'd love to try my beer but just not now because they don't want to get drunk. I try to explain they don't have to drink that much to "taste" the beer but they don't understand the concept... They automatically think home brew gets you wasted.

Boy, did I learn a lot about beer this weekend

Our home brew club does this at every meeting but it is well organized. All beers entered are written on a board and then organized by style, each person gets up and speaks about their beer while everyone tastes it. We all give our opinions and what can be improved it if needed and move on to...

    Local Brewpub getting screwed...

The neighbors won't open their door? If they don't open their door then they don't have customers and if they don't have customers why do they need parking? Edit: I watched the video and it appears to be in a residential area. In CA that wouldn't fly no matter what the business was, you can't...

Did I just ruin my batch with olive oil?

What was the starting and final gravity? Just curious to see if the oil helped the fermentation at all.

My insane 25 Gal, 100 Percent Hard Plumbed Tri-Clover, Automated Tippy Build

I used BBQ paint and touch it up as needed. Heat is one problem but nothing stands up to flames very well...

    One Thing You Learned Recently

There's nothing wrong with the hose, just the way you are using it. If you just hook up your filter and start filling your brewery you will get the water that has been soaking up the hose flavor. Run the water a few seconds to flush it out of the hose before you fill your brewery and the...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I'm brewing an Amber Ale but with all of the smoke and ash it's turning into an Ember Ale.... Here's my view from my back yard.

Nice!! I'm going the same direction, I had some neighbors donate these....

I need heavy cleaning tips for a cornelius keg.

Oxy clean and PBW are almost the same except PBW has additional cleaners in it. Bleach is bad for stainless so stay away from bleach based cleaners.

The Billy Bar, aka, Building an Articulated Tap Tower Keezer Without a Collar

The coolant lines run under the skin of the freezer and many people that have encased them in wood have found they overheat and it kills the freezer. The way to fix this is to leave a gap and run fans through that space so air flows over the freezers skin to keep the walls cool. Since yours is...
