I still use an aluminum turkey fryer BIAB alongside my keggle system almost every brewday to make small beers & second runnings. When mine was donated to me, it came completely encased in oil that was about 5 or 6 years old. It was completely NASTY!!!! But i cleaned it real well & put er' to use.

Looking good, Tally. I'm building mine out of old queen-size bed frames. I bought a bunch of them at a quasi-yard sale when an old motel was being renovated. \ Learning to weld has become quite the additional benefit!

I've used paint strainers as hop bags plenty of times with pellet hops. I've had no significant problems. Its a bit of a mess to clean the bag and don't think for a second you'll get it all the way clean but it will be good enough to get you through several brewdays before it needs replacing.

I plan on purchasing two of the plastic conicals and make a dual-conical fermentation stand with temp controller. There are many threads I have read on this forum that have given me my design ideas and I can't wait to post my results!
