    Belgian blonde color

Thanks man. I really didn't want to dump the last batch either, but it sat in primary for 2 months and went through 2 wyeast packets and only dropped to 1.030 gravity. I could have bottled but didn't want to risk making 2 cases of bottle bombs. Although that does sound some what fun. :D

    Belgian blonde color

So I'm attempting my second beer, a Belgian blonde. My first beer, a Cali common, never finished fermenting and I decided to dump it. Any way the blonde has been in primary for 3 days an had a nice krouzen(sp?). Only thing is its a darker brown then I was expecting. Almost like a brown ale...

It's California ale yeast. Temps are around 66-68. Starting gravity was 1.050 and I'm using a hydrometer. Just checked it an it's reading right.

    Too early for 2nd ferm?

I just checked my beer and I had planned on switching to secondary today (5 days in primary). Not a lot of krausen on top and my fg is at 1.030 right now (started at 1.050). Should I let it sit in primary for a little longer or will I be ok putting it in secondary?

    first attempt at Belgian tripel

looking at it on beersmith with out the crystal malt, it looks like it makes it a little lighter, where with it it pushed it to the darker side of a tripel. so i might take your advice and leave it out.

    first attempt at Belgian tripel

is the clear candi sugar in rocks that much worse. only reason i have it on there is thats what the guy gave me. he had a grocery bag that contained a total of 8lbs DME, 2lbs clear candi sugar rock form, and 8oz of c20 grains. me getting that with my setup is the reason behind me trying to make...

    first attempt at Belgian tripel

ok so i took out a 1/2lb of sugar, got rid of the bravo hops, added 3oz of stryian goldings to give it an IBU of 25. also added the .5lb of flaked wheat and honey malt. ok, i think i might kick it up to 2 packets, just to be safe.
