Brooklyn Brew Shop Everyday IPA Kit Tips

Anybody mention that the 3 TBsP of honey can overcarb? My first batch was a bunch of gushers. Fridging them helped a bit, but still lost a lot of beer upon opening. I went down to 2 TBsP on my 2nd+ batches and havent had that problem since. Sent from my SGH-T699 using Home Brew mobile app

Can I reuse store bought bottles?

I use the Grolsch swingtops. Its a bit of an investment initially, but you catch a great buzz off a solid Lager emptying them, they are 15 oz, so you can leave the yeasty portion in them with zero guilt, and they are less work when bottling solo. Replacement O-Rings are bout the same as buying...

Wife got me 1G Brooklyn Brew Shop kit

I got the same kit for my birthday from my wife. Definitely recommend the auto siphon. Also, I did my first couple kits using the strainer method in the instructions, but ended up with low efficiencies and really cloudy brews, with deep trub cakes. I scoured the net and built a 2 gallon...

How is cold crashing different from kegging?

Jumping in here. I have never cold crshed before. You just stick the fermenter in the fridge for a couple days before bottling? I use 1 gal. Carboys Sent from my SGH-T699 using Home Brew mobile app

Fermentation vessel for 1 gallon batches

For 1 gallon batches, the carlo rossi is almost exactly the same. You need a #6 stopper though, because the mouth is narrower than the brew shop 1 gal. Carboys. I have 3 in fermentation now and they are all Carlo bottles. Have fun! Sent from my SGH-T699 using Home Brew mobile app

Got called into work after I mashed in....:(

Hey guys, noob here. I tried to search an answer for this on the forums, but didn't come up with anything. I started my 3rd 1 gallon Wit beer batch today. Poured the grist in the Igloo tun and hit it with my initial mash water. Wouldn't you know it, the phone rang and they needed me at work as...
