Advice for starting a home brew club

Hmm. What's to stop a whole bunch of guys just getting together making and talking homebrew? Now if you want to do like club dues, contests and so on I could see why doing things legally would have its merits.

    Honey vs Corn Sugar

Hey jbb3 those instructions sound familiar. Is that an Brooklyn Brewshop IPA? I only ask because I'm brewing that right now and someone recommended 2 tbls to 1/2 cup of water. They said 3tbls can overcarb your beer though I'm still waiting for mine to finish up so I can bottle.

Brooklyn Brew Shop Everyday IPA Kit Tips

Ok so seriously this beer is WEIRD!! Today is two weeks since I brewed the BBS IPA. Within the first 18 hours it started its fermentation and was going crazy enough that krausen invaded the blowoff tube. After replacing the vessel full of sanitizer a day later the ferm settled down and I put the...

How do YOU name your beers?

Well my BBS Everyday IPA is gonna be bottled soon and its already been named by the company. But I got this as a kit without a funnel($6.99), strainer($5.99), bottles($14), caps($3.99) or a capper($18). This turned into a white elephant so I'm going to lovingly call it my White Elephant IPA.

Things You Can Only Say To Another Brewer.

"He stuck his hand in unsanitized to clear out the obstruction. He's worried about infecting the wort but I think his Blonde will be just fine." "Once you get your Blonde into the jug make sure you shake the hell out of it."

    How long to wait?

Im getting the idea from alot of experienced brewers here that by letting it go a minimum 2 weeks, you allow the yeasts to clean up any bit of stuff that may have escaped their notice.

Brooklyn Brew Shop Everyday IPA Kit Tips

Anybody who has brewed the Everyday IPA: About how fast was the noticeable fermentation and does it finish its fermentation early? One week later the airlock isn't gurgling and there doesn't seem to be very much activity in the jug. The temperature had been around these last couple of days. I'd...
