i'm going to try freezing my next brew while it still cold out.

so this beer looks much darker than i expected.... it look golden coming from the mash tun and turned dark brown by the time i pitched the yeast. I was thinking it would stay or be only a darker golden color. Its pretty cold out right now - could that have something to do with it? Doing the...

I'll check out BYO to see what they say... Admittedly, I've never considered it could be a gimmick. And, I can only think of one way to test that theory. I know the Hempen Ale brewed by Fredrick Brewing Co. was pulled from the market- no idea why.

Good point of view Bobby... use the Boston elements to your advantage. I did my first 10 gallon with similar equipment and it worked out fine even without the winter conditions. Try running the water line though an ice bucket before it goes into the coil. It may help if your still not...

I want to try using hemp seeds in a recipe (maybe a hempen ale.. suggestions?) but see that the US has a heat sterilization mandate. Can i still brew with these seeds? Is there anything else I should consider when choosing seeds? Thanks
