    Troubleshooting a Nitro Tap setup

OP, did you ever get your problem solved? I know this thread is old, but I am having the identical problem with an identical setup. I am starting to think my cylinder is pure co2 now. Let me know if you figured it out, thanks!

    Adding spigot to fermenter

Why not use the spigot on the buttom? Contrary to other thoughts, the bottom spigot is high enough and typically doesn't pull any true out.

    Post your infection

Well oddly enough it tastes good. Thanks for the common sense tips!

    Post your infection

Good points, I'll do both the taste and smell test tonight. I'll report back, thanks.

    Post your infection

The thing is, I never like the taste of samples before it's carbed. I usually love it when it's done. So I don't know if tasting it would help me any.

    Post your infection

I'm pretty sure this is an infection... Can an expert verify? This is the CC Beavr Nutz, brewed on 1-17-15 and transfered to the secondary (pictured) on 1-29. It looked fine when I transfered. If it is an infection, do I dump it? Thanks all.

A keezer to be proud of

    That is amazing. Nice job.

    Yup, It's Another Coffin Keezer

I've been working on a Keezer for some time, since August. I have basic woodworking skills, but nothing to make it look like some of the other Keezers on here. In person, I notice a lot of the blemishes - the miters aren't perfect, I had to fill nail holes on the exterior, etc...but it looks...

    8 Gal Pre-Boil=Low OG?

I see what you're saying and I think you're right. Before I try to adjust the grain bill, I'm going to try to get my process down better for less loss.

    8 Gal Pre-Boil=Low OG?

That explains it very well, thank you.

    8 Gal Pre-Boil=Low OG?

Actually I have one more question. How do I know how much grain to add? I think I have the answer but I want to double check... Let's say I have a recipe that is intended for a 7 gal pre boil. I divide each grain ingredient by 7, giving me the amount of grain per 1 gallon of pre boil volume...

    8 Gal Pre-Boil=Low OG?

I just know my post boil volume by what ends up in the fermenter, plus I estimate.25 gal left in the kettle. I do not take a pre boil gravity reading, mostly because I never have needed it since I don't check my efficiency, I am going to start though. I think my question was answerd, thank...

    8 Gal Pre-Boil=Low OG?

No I have not adjusted the grain bill, I don't know why I didn't think of that, that's probably my problem. I'm not sure what you mean by asking how I measure... Grain is by weight and water is by volume, I have a one gallon pitcher I use to measure, like the kind a restaurant kitchen uses...

    8 Gal Pre-Boil=Low OG?

I've researched a lot of threads and have not been able to find a clear answer to my question. First off I found after researching that it seems like no one needs to start with 8 gallons pre-boil to end up with 5 gallons in the keg. For some reason I do though. I get 6 gallons into the...

    (4) Perlick Faucets

Okay, I appreciate the offer very much but I will pass just because after I pay for the shanks (including shipping), it will be the same cost for a full new set. Thank you though!

    (4) Perlick Faucets

Okay, is that $30 each including the 4" shanks? Also I said model number didn't matter, and it doesnt, but can you let me know just so I know what I would be getting? Thanks!

    (4) Perlick Faucets

I'm looking for (4) Perlick faucets with 4" shanks, model number doesn't matter. I know some decent places to get them new but I figured I'd try the used market first. Thanks

Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Hella Vanilla Cream Ale

That makes sense, I will follow that - I'm excited to try this one out. Thanks a lot!

Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Hella Vanilla Cream Ale

Funkadelicturkey, can you explain how you went from grain to keg in just over two weeks? Didn't you lager it to clear it up by slowly raising the fermentation temp over several days, letting it rest several days, then slowly lowering the temp over several days to 30ish, letting it rest several...
