All grain peanut butter and jelly ale **PICS**

Made this beer a long time ago, it was delicious. It was more of a "dessert beer" though, you couldn't really have more than one as it was pretty rich. I may cut down on the PB2 next time I brew it. After a long time (about one year), the strawberry flavor disappeared. Anyway, below is a...

    Show Us Your Label

Some of my "labels". I don't really label my bottles, persay, it's more of a hanging tag. I just punch a hole in the top of the tag and wrap it around the neck of the bottle with twine. I put the design on the front and the beer description on the back, along with my brewery name and ABV...

3 years of patience lost in 5 minutes

I would seriously report that... It's no different than taking anything else off of your rented property. I don't see how its different than taking your grill sitting outside and just walking off with it.

    Got 18lbs Free Hops

OK so my 18lbs turned out to be 2.5 lbs after drying (and my brother loosing a bunch in a mud pit....long story). Anyway I vacuum sealed them all and froze them. Thanks again everyone!

    Men who sit to pee

This "sit to pee" as a male has never crossed my mind....and no I'm not a "man is king" "manly man" or trying to prove anything, it's just what the male gender is made to do (in my opinion), like women bear children; men stand to pee. I was raised in a house with 3 men/boys (my father, myself...

    Are these Hops Too Dry?

These are whole leaf Cascade hops that were picked about 2 weeks ago and left to dry on a screen in a cool dry place, out of the sun. By the looks of them, are they too dried out? They smell good, but I don't know if you can over-dry them (naturally dried, no dehydrator) Thanks

Foam in lines after pouring - used to be fine

Sorry I don't have an answer to your question, but I am highly jealous of your workplace. Unfortunately for you, I will bet that this post will generate more posts like mine rather than help you out! You should have left the "at work" part out!

    Got 18lbs Free Hops

I'll go the huge screen route. Thanks all for your responses. If I do decide to give them away (my brother knew the grower and picked them for me, so he has first shot, but he doesn't brew beer) I'll post in the for sale fourm and here first. Not that they're "for sale" but the buyer will pay...

    Got 18lbs Free Hops

So I just picked 18ish pounds of cascade hops for free from someone in town that was giving them away. First of all, I'll only use 1/3 of that at the most in the next year, how cost efficient would it be for the *recipient* for me to give the extras away for free on this fourm, charging for...

mold in my spigot... what to do?

I used to use an auto siphon and yes it was easy and worked well, but I switched to using spigot frementers only, about 3 years ago and I've never had a problem. As easy as the auto siphon is, the spigot is easier and less time consuming. To the OP, to keep mine clean I disassemble and clean...

    Nonprofit pub in Portland

This thread is old, but I just found this place (It's called the Oregon Public House) so I decided to search the fourm for it. This post was in 2012 and now the pub has been open since2013, and it sounds like they've been successful. Has anyone been here? Weather you have or not, what do you...

    Men who sit to pee

Why do so many have trouble peeing at night? If it's that big of a problem, just put a motion activated night light in your bathroom. Or an IllumniBowl.

Anyone else annoyed with newer breweries using cans?

Somewhat related, but not totally... Why do big breweries like BMW can AND bottle? Why don't they just pick one? If it's the whole glass on a beach thing, why don't they just exclusively can? I'm not saying I'm for or against either method, I'm just curious as to why the big places do both.

Amount of Priming Sugar for Cold Crashed Beer?

Makes sense, thanks for the explanation.

Amount of Priming Sugar for Cold Crashed Beer?

Why is it that the Northern Brewer priming calculator asks for the *current* beer temperature, if the above posts say that priming is supposed to be based off of the highest temp the beer had reached? http://www.northernbrewer.com/learn/resources/priming-sugar-calculator/
