    What are you drinking now?

Just off the beach, and this tastes amazing! Just picked these up at the brewery a few days ago, on the release day... Highly recommend trying if you come across it, the coconut is well done, and very restrained as a flavor on the finish. Otherwise, it's a nice fresh, juicy IPA!

    What brewery are you visiting?

And today was indeeed the brewery...we come here every year, but was the first time in a long time for me actually taking the tour. The scale and pace at which DFH has grown is truly amazing. The pics really do have to be panoramic... First pic is the 200 barrel brewhouse, second is the main...

    What brewery are you visiting?

Yes, of course! We will be there tomorrow AM! (As we do every year, and then have lunch at Paul Bunyon's Lunchbox....)

    What brewery are you visiting?

Just checked out the 'new' DFH taproom/restaurant in Rehoboth Beach! It's much bigger and more open than the old brewpub...some may miss the rustic feel of the old building, but there are plenty of nods to the old, and acknowledging it's importance, from the hop steps (same hop names as on the...

    What are you drinking now?

Yeah, I had the peach barrel wheat the other day...all of their beers are way to sweet for me, seem way underattenuated, and a lot of the flavors seem artificial....

    What brewery are you visiting?

Very cool...I haven't been to Moab in a long time, that brewery was awesome, and one of the first micro breweries I ever went to! (Back in 1998! Yikes, has it been that long?!)

    What are you drinking now?

I'd drink it! The Red was a staple for me and my roommate back in the day!

American Pale Ale 15 Minute Cascade Pale Ale

Yeah, that was my main first impression when I first brewed this recipe! (Which is why I've kept brewing it as a pipeline-keeper!) I recently had some tasting notes on my most recent batch from a more experienced brewer with BJCP chops, and the feedback was positive, although he thought...

    What brewery are you visiting?

That's an interesting comparison, and I can see some common themes/techniques... All of the art both for the brewery, logos, etc., as well as what is hanging in the brewpub there is actually done by Joe Deck, who's one of the partners in the brewery...awesome guy, great artist...I have two of...

    What are you drinking now?

Haven't had this in a while! When I ran across a 6-er of pint cans, I had to have it...Tastes as good as I remembered!

    What brewery are you visiting?

Not sure why I've never posted this place before, it's our local hangout! And.....we're here again, relaxing with a couple of meads at Apis in downtown Carnegie, PA... It's a super relaxed place; this is their original brewery and taproom...sometime soon they'll be opening a new taproom and...

    favorite honey

I guess it's all to taste, but I do like orange blossom...it is a very distinct honey. If you can get it, sourwood is an amazing honey, and one of the best varietals I've ever tasted. I've not had a chance to try it, but I've heard a lot of good things about meadowfoam honey making a great...

    What are you drinking now?

How did you like that Draai Laag? They're kind of local to me, but I haven't made it over to their place yet....

    What brewery are you visiting?

Last night I checked out an awesome little place -- The BottleHouse in Cleveland, OH. They have some amazing beers and meads! The food options are limited but the brisket sandwich I had was really good. Had flight with a farmhouse ale inspired gruit (Spring Gruit), the smoked rye wheat...

    O.G. Calculator needed

The PPPG (points per pound per gallon) of honey will vary. The assumption that a pound in a gallon is 1.040 is a *very* high estimate, one that has propagated for some time...it's what I started with over 10 years ago, as that's what ProMash used, and at first I had no idea... However, I'm...

    Cider casserole

Many of us have used variations of Brandon O's recipe here on HBT: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=117117 The bittering is actually extremely low, something on the order of 10 IBU or so, as I recall. I have to admit I'm a bit of a hophead, and I love bitterness, but actually what...
