    Aluminum Brew Pot

So my dad recently gave a pretty nice 10 gallon stoke pot that he didn't need anymore. Wondering if there are any issue with brewing in an aluminum pot. Will it add off flavors?

    ESB-Extract with some issues.

Not sure if it makes a huge difference but I typed the recipe on here wrong. It was 6 lbs Golden Light and 1 lb Pilsen.

    ESB-Extract with some issues.

So my bro-in-law and I worked on a an ESB recipe. This was our first time playing around with a recipe. Just wanted to get a little feed back. FYI...I am going to post the original recipe. The guy the the LHBS convinced that we should LME sold us 6.6 lbs of LME which was not enough. Oh well...

Experienced Brewers Input after my Violent Fermentation?

We had the lid blow off of one our primaries about 4 months ago. Since then we always a blow off tube made out of a stopper and racking tubing. I would like larger tubing but haven't gotten around to it yet. If you are going to rack to a secondary don't get rid of your air locks. They work...

Irish Stout Irish Car Bomb Stout

Definitely a great early brew. Ours have been aging in the bottle for a month and it really is getting better with age.

    A great simple recipe

I once tried a cider along time ago. It turned out terrible...but I was young, dumb, and hasn't really researched it much. This is my first attempt since then. It's been fermenting for about 4 days now. Still have some steady bubbling on top of the cider...I like carboys simply cause I can watch it.

    Gelatin in Fruit Beer

Mostly that the gelatin would get caught up I the fruit and not spread through the beer well.

    Gelatin in Fruit Beer

Hey everyone. Sorry if this answer is in another thread but haven't been able to find it. I brewed a raspberry ale (Requiem Raspberry recipe) and have it in the secondary with the raspberries right now. I have never used gelatin as a clearing agent before and was wondering if the berries would...

    Using Gelatin for clearing

So I know this is an old thread but thought I would try to ask a question. I have a raspberry ale in the secondary right now (see the recipe Requiem Raspberry). I was wondering if there is an issue with using gelatin when there is still fruit in the secondary? Will it still clear out?

    A great simple recipe

Getting ready to make this today. Going to toss in blueberries when I rack it to the secondary. I figured with the blueberries I should hold off on the cinnamon sticks. Thoughts?

    Fruit Beer Requiem Raspberry

    Fruit Beer Requiem Raspberry

Brewed this yesterday with some buddies. Turned out a little darker than I thought it would. Been in the primary for a little over 12 hours and already has a nice fermentation. Wasn't able to take an OG. Our hydrometer broke!!!

    Fruit Beer Requiem Raspberry

Alright, going to try brewing this a second time. First go around ended in a clogged airlock and the lid blowing in the fermenter. Going to use a Carboy and blow off tube this time around. Stoked!!!

    Fruit Beer Requiem Raspberry

Naw...my brew partner has a spare shower in his basement that we everything in. Just a matter of turning it on. Probably will do a coffee stout next then comeback to this in a brew or two.
