    Oatmeal Cookie Galactagrog

Does anyone have any advice on the fenugreek side of this? I've never used it before.

    Oatmeal Cookie Galactagrog

Cool, thanks. I'll have to look at whether I can get them here. My LHBS is a little limited. :(

    Oatmeal Cookie Galactagrog

Ok, so SWMBO is knocked up with number 2, and was doing some good husband research on all the things I'm supposed to know about for this. In reviewing one of the books I realized that many of the supplements they recommend for nursing mothers (galactagogues) are also used (or can be used) in...

    Pregnancy & Homemade Soda

+1 to risk mitigation. The problem is that people have no idea what the real risks are. The fact is that the risk they take in driving to your house probably far outweighs the risk of drinking your soda (or eating the cold-cut). But it's an individual decision all mothers need to make for...

    Cheap and easy aeration gadget

Just to update, I finally got this gadget working well (previous attempts were foiled by hops clogging my pickup tube on my kettle, false bottom to the rescue). I brewed some of Da Yopper APA on Sunday, and after cooling I used the gadget. I could hear it sucking in a lot of air, and it...

    Mash paddle/canoe paddle

I've been feeling a lack of mash paddle lately, and now realize that those crappy plastic spoons are a poor substitute. I did a little digging on easy homemade paddles and realized that a Child's canoe paddle should fit the bill. I found one cheap at the local sporting goods store.I was a...

    Best hot weather beer.

Wit. My goal for next summer is to perfect that style.

    Mother's milk oatmeal stout

Hey man, I don’t mean to resurrect a dead thread, but I find myself in the same position you did, and I am throwing around the idea of a fenugreek, low alcohol breastfeeding beer. My problem is the wife is a fan of the really hoppy pales (loves the cascades). She usually finds stouts a bit...

If you could brew for the first time all over again...

+1 on keeping it simple. I too decided to go all-grain off the bat, and also got stuck into the fancy equipment trap. Eventually I realized that I don’t need that much. Simple cooler mash tun, converted keg kettle for hot liquor, another one for boil kettle, a propane burner and a basic...

    Answer these 3 questions immediately!

    1) homebrew ESB (1st AG). 2) my 2yr old "blowing bubbles" in the bath. 3) APA, India Black Ale and Apfelwien.

American Pale Ale Da Yooper's House Pale Ale

I just added my dry-hop addition to this (after 2 weeeks in the carboy). The sample was at 1.010 and tasted stellar. Nice work Yopper! I will be brewing this again in 2 weeks!

Cascadian Dark help - Does this look ok?

Thanks for the help guys! The day went fine, up until all those hops plugged my pickup tube. Eventually I had to break out my auto-syphon to get it out. I hope nothing got infected. My efficiency also seemed way low (OG of 1.05). I'll have to figure that one out for next time. Anyway, it tasted...

Cascadian Dark help - Does this look ok?

Good thought. My latest version calls for a little over 2 oz (60 g), if that's not enough I'll adjust it on the next batch. :mug:

Cascadian Dark help - Does this look ok?

Yeah, you did take the last of the Munich, oh well. I suspect it may cut down on the malt a bit. For the hops I went to Bedford over in Esquimalt. They have tubs of whole hops. After the green sludge left in my kettle yesterday (APA using pellet hops), I think that's all I'm using! What a mess...

    Strong Bitter Common Room ESB

I just bottled this, and it tastes stellar! it was my first attempt at AG brewing, and despite minor hiccups (nothing a quick panicked post to HBT couldn't fix), it tastes awesome! Thanks for the recipe KingBrianI, it will surely enter my standard rotation. :mug:

Cascadian Dark help - Does this look ok?

Well, I got my stuff but had to change things on the fly anyway. My LHBS got a moldy batch of Munich, so had none. I upped the pale and chocolate to account for the loss (for colour anyway). We'll see how it turns out.

Cascadian Dark help - Does this look ok?

Hi guys, thanks again for your help on my recipe. Here's the latest version, which I am going to brew this weekend. Any thoughts before I pull the trigger on the grain (I already have the hops). Recipe: The Three Hundred Cascadian Dark - Tweed Curtain Brewwerks Recipe Overview Wort Volume...

    Brewmasters Warehouse

Ed, From your website it looks like you might ship to Canada now. Is this true, and can you give me a rough estimate on shipping a standard sized AG recipe to Victoria BC? Cheers! WCH

Oh, I'm good with roasty. Maybe a half and half of choco and black patent?
