    had a great bottling/brew day

just racked my Double Chocolate Stout. SG was @ 1.024, but with a OG of 1.070, I am at 6.0% ABV already... once i racked it and put it back in the closet, i noticed the airlock was active again.... about 1 bubble every 30 seconds... Here's bumping that ABV up another .5 % or maybe...

Holy ****, Cherry Wheat Carb'd after 1 week

well you probably don't want it. i am still a beginner and have just done 4 brews. the last two were kits that i steeped grains, added DME or LME and hops. but the cherry wheat was just a very basic Coopers Wheat Kit in a can (pre hopped). the key to the cherry however was some Oregon...

sorry bout the Shiner Glass, i do need some clear ones... My SWMBO loved the Cherry Wheat, even at room temp, that's gotta say something. The only think disappointing about the Cherry Wheat is the 4.0% ABV, but i can live with it, since it tastes so good... I will give them some more...

    Pumpkin Ale after 1 week

no doubt, a bottle bomb smiley is needed :rockin: i really think a little more time is needed in the bottle for the pumpkin, especially after drinking one... but my Cherry Wheat is really close to being finished (another thread)... think i will give the pumpkin a llittle while longer...

    Pumpkin Ale after 1 week

Wow, impressed with this one too... nicely carb'd already. as i stated in another thread, my first brew took 3 weeks to fully carbonate. However, this pumpkin ale is well on its way... Has a nice mellow pumpkin taste with some nice hop flavor as well. Quite a nice mix of...

Holy ****, Cherry Wheat Carb'd after 1 week

ok, this is my second brew and based on the results of my first brew and it's carbonation after 1 week, before I popped the top on my Cherry Wheat, I tipped the bottle upside down twice. maybe i shouldn't have... beer came out of the bottle upon popping the flip top and the head was...

more than 200 grolsch bottles for $100

there work very well. my first batch was in flip top bottles and capped bottles. both equally carbonated and holding their carbonation. the grommets on the flip tops just need replacing every 4-6, some people say 6-8 brews.

more than 200 grolsch bottles for $100

When and how shoul I bottle Hefe Wheat beer

so this applies to hefe's only, correct? all other beer's benefit from the conditioning of the secondary, correct?

seems as soon as i brew i am ready again

i bought some amber bottles from the my LHBS, but I did buy quite a few Grolsch 4 packs, mostly for the bottles. i do however enjoy Grolsch. Running to the store later today to purchase about 5 more 4 packs then I will be able to have 15 gallons bottled simetaneously. :rockin: For the...

When and how shoul I bottle Hefe Wheat beer

so if i understand what i am reading here, hefeweizen's do not require a conditioning/clearing stage in a secondary... i am planning on doing this kit from AHBS next... http://www.austinhomebrew.com/product_info.php?products_id=318 do you guys just recommend primary time only, then...
