    Can't get it up

My third BIAB. Inside due to weather. Mashed in my 15 gallon kettle and in all my wizardness I bought one that just squeaks under the moicrowave on top of stove. Transferred to my eight gallon kettle via a sauce pot which I poured over the grain bag which was sitting in my bucket draining system...

    Grain Mills - Your opinion?

I pulled the plug on the JSP malt mill. I splurged on the hardened rollers and one adjustilbe end. I love this machine with its ten inch rollers. I debated and researched and I'm really happy with it. I love the crush. I still turn it by hand on top of a 5 gallon pail. My son in law borrows it...

PLEASE help now !too much water in mash

Hi, you are not too late to the party, I'm up to the pre boil after doing some other really stoopid stuff. I decided to put the wort out of the brandy-néw, shiny 15 gallon kettle into my old 8 gallon kettle which has a spigot to realize that I didn't have enough room for a good boil, so I...

PLEASE help now !too much water in mash

I'm now doing a 90 minute mash just to calm down. I'm also going to do a mash out at 168 degrees for ten minutes. I'm using california select malt and morebeer reccomended mashing this IPA at 147 to 149. I did grind my grain twice. I love my mill from jack Schmidling. I bought the hardened...

PLEASE help now !too much water in mash

Thanks so much, there is a learning curve and I goofed up. My first BIAB was a northern brewer kit. This time I did the calculations on my own. Lol, northern brewer directions clearly state it's easier to adjust up rather than down.i think I have another question coming. Thanks, Yvette

PLEASE help now !too much water in mash

Doing my second brew in a bag. I calculated too much water. I am still in the mash. I can tell I have too much water. Can I boil off some water prior to starting the hour boil where i will start adding the hops without ruining the beer. I added 9.5 gallons water to 14 pounds grain. I plan on...

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

The beer distributor delivery man told us that the old beer goes to die at big lot stores like SAMs club. Grocery stores have the fresh beer. We had this conversation after complaining about a popular German beer that we used to like. Yvette

    50 quart pot

I pulled the plug and go it for $118.56. I think for me it's a good choice. Should be as heavy as my other pot. I'll do a comparison when I get it. No spigot but maybe I'll install one. I might boil in my eight gallon kettle and use this one to mash with. I know it's not the brew in the bag...

    50 quart pot

These are what I am looking at. The first one has a steamer insert, not an insert but like a false bottom. It's 50 quarts. The second link is much less exspensive but it doesn't have a heavy bottom, and it's 60 quarts and no steamer tray. http://www.ebay.com/itm/200950525600...

    50 quart pot

I have an 8 gallon kettle, very nice and heavy. I really appreciate it. I want to upgrade to brew 5 gallon BIAB, beers. I like my beers stronger than session beers. I like the Concord heavy duty pots, but they are sized 50 and 80 quart sizes. Do you think I will regret not having a 60 quart...
