    I'm looking at getting AHS's Winter Warmer for my next brew, and conditioning it in the secondary with some bourbon oak chips. I'm a big fan of Widmir's Barrel Aged Burrbon. I'm trying to create something similar. What do you guys think?

    NOOB: Extract vs Partial vs All Grain

    An extract kit is a simplified version of the whole brewing process. You get malt extract, so you do not have to mash it yourself. You'll also get grains in a muslin bag and hops to add. Since it is an extract, generally you will not do a full 5 gallon boil. I usually boil 2.5 gallons of water...

    like everyone else said, your suppose to. One of the kits i bought (i believe it was a Brewer's Best) said to boil for 5 minutes.

    From what i have learned it is good until the pH reaches 3, and some people say it is good until it gets cloudy. If you have a pH tester, or the strips take the pH of it. It should be at 3 or below to work properly. I've heard people use it in a spray bottle so they dont wind up throwing...

    Siphon hose cloudy

    I just checked my siphon hose after brewing 2 batches of beer (a Brewers Best American Amber and Northern Brewer Extra Pale ale), and i noticed that the siphon/bottling hose that I have been using has turned cloudy. I know its clean...i clean it and sanitize it after every use...is it still...
