    Is my beer ruined?

Your dog is looking like he's thinking "Man get that thing outta my space!"
  2. B

Ok... but have you had this problem?

It's too bad you didn't have a few buddies over to point, laugh and take documentation (pics) :cross:

    First Brew Bottles

Not sure why they weren't working for you guys. I've used them and the cap was always tight. *shrug* I guess it's luck.

    First Brew Bottles

Were you not able to use the twist offs? I bottled almost all of my beer in regular bottles but finished off with twist offs. I tested one of them and after capping you can just twist the cap off like when you bought it originally.

    Removing Labels

You can also run them in the dishwasher on the hot cycle. The first run to get the labels loose and the second for the glue.

    First Brew, First Taste

I think the cidery flavor should chill out after leaving them to bottle condition a bit longer.

    How important is water treatment?

Not everyone is a fan of reverse osmosis but I use a 5-stage RO system for brewing. I am also going to order the UV light filter to the system to kill all the little crawlies that maybe in the water. :mug:

why are kit instructions so horrible ?

Yep. Most directions are bad. Check out the directions that NorthernBrewer.com supplies: General Beer Kit Instructions I found them to be just fine.

    Contamination ?

I did the same thing (straight ro water in airlock, sucked in) and mine is not contaminated. You're more than likely fine. But if there were an infection, what could be done about it now? You won't ever completely eliminate every possibility of infection but just make an effort to be careful...

Are northern brewer's grains pre crushed??? need a response quick

Mine were crushed when I ordered from NB. You should be fine :-)

    clarity

Agreed. It isn't going to start clearing for at least 2 weeks. Leave it in there 3 to 4 weeks as Revvy says. I'm going on week 3 of my Irish Red Ale and it's getting pretty clear and still occasionally bubbling. You want to leave it in past primary fermentation to allow the yeast to tackle...

First Batch in Bottles - High Hopes!

Congrats! My first brew is still in the primary (since New Years Eve). And it is a Northern Brewer's Irish Red (draught).
  18. B

Will film from last batch stuck in primary hurt the next batch?

I personally would try to get it all out. "Shown Below" Where is the pic?
