2000w at 120 is 16.66A. 12awg is rated at 20A. Loads shouldn't pass 80% witch is 16A. .66A over isn't going to be an issue. A 12awg wire will be fine.

Interesting stuff. It does look similar. I have watered from the hose very little this year, as it has rained quite a bit and on a regular basis. I think I'll have to do a soil test. I had this issue last year, but not nearly as bad. Thanks for the input.
