Propane- what would blow me up?

What kind of set up are you using?single tier ? Separate burners? Multi tier? I just bought a bayou classic SQ14 on amazon for $44 including shipping which is an amazing deal. It's far more efficient than my last, cheaper bayou burner. I can't even offer a slightest suggestion on what to...

Propane- what would blow me up?

Isn't it just unscrewing the fitting with your hand? I have the old style wrench fitting on my pop up camper but almost all stuff now is the BBQ grill fitting ... Also if it's a wrench type fitting its a left hand thread "righty loosey lefty tighty" and brass is softer than steel so it's easy...

Propane- what would blow me up?

Also since you are preboil you can put a lid on the wort and run to your nearest propane exchange... It won't hurt a thing since the boil will sanitize

You said you have a spare. Use it.

Propane- what would blow me up?

Exchange it at Walmart and get a new one. Don't use a leaky tank.

    Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale?

I brewed this about six weeks ago, it's been in the bottle a week. It's very very close. I followed the instructions to a T, except I subbed out the bittering hop additions for an equivalent of magnum I had laying around, and used tettnanger. The beer is nearly identical flavor wise, the...

Also if my Labrador is dumb enough to eat hops and ignore the nearby tomatoes, she deserves what she gets!

    Hops Rhizomes

Sounds like a old wives tale. Read that first thread, second page: "http://www.ansci.cornell.edu/plants/comlist.html Humulus lupulus is not listed on this rather comprehensive list. Nor does http://www.vet.ohio-state.edu/ site have anything on it."

    non-craft drinkers complaining about homebrews

When I give homebrews to either BMC people or non craft beer, I preface it by saying: "this may not be your thing. It's ok if you don't like it, if you don't like it, I will drink it and get you something else." My sister in law who dislikes beer very much but is a wine person, did backflips...

    Tax refund brewery expansions!

I have my deductions set high so I don't really get much of a refund. I'm doing my best not to give Uncle Sam a 12 month interest free loan by letting him take the money in the first place. Alas no upgrades for me.

    any expierience with Millars??

Used mine for the first time today. I mounted it to a piece of 2x2 I got at lowes for 98c and cut it in half. I set my rollers about halfway between the .25 and the .50 setting and I got 85% efficiency out of my grist batch sparging. It worked flawlessly, really pulverized the grain (actually I...

    Propane for Brewing

I'm rather positive its a similar connection type, if not certainly adapters could be found. I know the 5th wheel campers use a (fixed) forklift style propane tank that is usually stored near the landing gear, usually it's 30-40lbs.

South Jersey/Philly Group Buy... ROUND 35!

Couldn't have been easier. Thanks a bunch jeff. Sorry for being late, I am throwing my wife's garmin in the gutter for getting us lost and taking us the dumb way. Give that lil Sumpin Sumpin clone about two weeks, it should be rather awesome :)

    Propane for Brewing

Also remember the open market on propane is DROPPING, as it is a byproduct of oil and natural gas drilling and refining . The Marcellus shale fracking alone has been dropping CNG, LNG and propane prices ..blue rhino is making huge profits off low propane prices and steady demand.

    Propane for Brewing

That g4 burner is $300 holy crap. A blichmann with legs is only $200, and it's propane compatible ! My local Wally World gets 17.86 for a 15lb exchange. My local gas station which is run by shady characters with little English charge $20 for a refill but I'm rather sure they are ripping me...

    Propane for Brewing

I'm getting about 4 brews from a tank or so (all grain)... I'm motivated to run a natural gas line disconnect somewhere where I can brew with it. Then I need new blichmann burners. That will make SWMBO *really* pissed lol

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I recommend getting beersmith...try the 2 week trial, it's an awesome program, does all the math for you. It's the best $20 I've spent yet, it does all my record keeping and my calculations. I think it's a must for any AG brewer.
