    95 % efficiency?

I just ran the numbers on beersmith and it comes out to 75% efficiency. I think you may be speaking about efficiency into the boiler which would be high because you had extra wort (almost 14 gallons as opposed to the 13.4 that you planned).

    Grain bill game!

Are you kidding me? Seriously, they must be hiring people that don't brew. Who would think that someone uses 4 pounds of carapils in a recipe, especially along with 2 pounds of special B?

South Jersey/Philly Group Buy... ROUND 5!

Doesanyone think that this (CMC) malt seems to be much more fermentable than Briess? I'm noticing that my beers are fermenting very dry. When I was using Briess, I was lowering my mash temps to get the wort to ferment out drier, now I'm noticing that I am going to have to raise the temps back...

How much water to use during batch sparging?

NO, mash thickness isn't as important as you think. Try it your way and try it my way and I'll bet you won't notice a difference. Yes, I've done it both ways. No, there wasn't a difference on the few beers I tried it on. You can very mouthfeel and body with mash temps if you want to. It...

    Candy corn flavored beer

Ballsy!! I don't see why not, although my concern is that it wouldn't dissolve. There may be a wax coating on it from the factory to make it shine a bit. Maybe do some experiments with some first to see if there is wax on it, or dissolve some in hot water to see if they'll break down. maybe...

How much water to use during batch sparging?

I do something a bit different. I collect 7.5 gallons for a 5.5 gallon batch. That means I need to collect 3.75 gallons twice. The second water addition is 3.75 gallons. Everything you put in, you get out. The first addition (the initial mash in) is 3.75gallons + your dead space + your...
