    SWMBO Conversion?

my lovely lady and i met in jackson hole a few years back. some of our first dates were at the snake river brewpub throwing back zonker stouts. she loves my ipa's too. :mug: no conversion necessary! and she's in the wine biz, so we drink our fair share of some (free) fine wines too...

    DogFish Head 90 min IPA

the lovely swmbo brought me home a 4 pack of 90min IPA last night. i gotta say, that is one of the best beers i've ever had. the hop aroma was right on time. the beer had a "thicker" texture/mouthfeel than i expected. delicious. can't wait for another one. although the 9%, along with a...

Krausen gone in a day and a half?

i had an IPA (og was 1.048) recently that went like gangbusters for 2-3 days, then nothing. krausen disappeared a couple days later. i was worried, but stuck with my plan. left it in primary for about 10 days. when i racked to secondary, gravity was 1.018. left in secondary for 14 days, and...

    Fermentation problem?

i racked to secondary friday night, and it was still 1.018, so i guess we're right on schedule. i was concerned, only because in all my other batches thus far, there was plenty of visible fermentation, krausen, etc. this batch seemed to finish very quickly. oh well!

What do you guys prefer for bottles?

respect to oscar hammerstein, but these are a few of my favorite things....... a 64oz flip top - these are firggin' great when you know you have a party coming up. saves a ton of bottling time and make for a sweet presentation. a 24oz sierra bottle (the southern hemisphere harvest - was...

    Fermentation problem?

my gravity after 8 days is now 1.018 (first chance i've gotten to take the reading). i'll test again tomorrow and see if there's a change. there has been no, none, nada evidence of fermentation - no bubbling, no krausen, etc. very bizarre looking at the targets. target original was 1.064...
