Purchase grain less that 1# amounts

Thanks, I do have a good scale and I actually looked at very option and priced it both ways, there was a savings but not to great, as long as the company will package each grain in separate bags it should work great.

Purchase grain less that 1# amounts

Thanks guys, I think I have a pretty good list of suppliers. Of course at some point I want to purchase grains in larger quantities and store them properly so I can create my own unique blends of grains.

Purchase grain less that 1# amounts

I have an ale recipe from a friend that requires 7# 10oz of a grain. How/where do I purchase grains to fit my recipe where I only need a 10oz. I realize I need to grind my own but I'm new and not quite ready to take that leap. I did find Atlantic Brewers Supply and Brewer Dude, are they others...

New post a picture of your pint

My first brew of a Belgian Dark Ale, we got the recipe from Schoolhouse Brewing in the Atlanta area. They put it together while we enjoy this beer and a few others like it. A great place to sample a lot of beers and they will gladly share the recipe with anyone and put it together for you if...

    Who's smoking meat this weekend?

Looks like a Traeger smoker in the background? I have the competing brand, RecTec Grills. Both are great at smoking meats at controlled temperatures.

Foam Issue In Corny Keg on new brew?

Morning day_tripper, just to clear up where I'm coming from, I'm not bound and determined to do a fast carb. I'm really annal and like to explore every option available to me for almost any new project. If I was really stuck on doing it fast I could use the Brinkman Fast Carb and move on, but...

Foam Issue In Corny Keg on new brew?

Could I just use a similar process to carb my next keg? A quick Google seems to indicate that it is an option. This really resinates with me from a logical standpoint. CO2 is directly sent into the beer from the bottom up !

Foam Issue In Corny Keg on new brew?

Thanks to all that have contributed to help me solve my mess!! I read every post above and followed all the links and I have a pretty good handle on what I did wrong. I followed the advise of fastricky and the beer now somewhat tamed, at least a lot better but it still has a ways to go. The next...

Foam Issue In Corny Keg on new brew?

Odd, as part of my research I read that link a few days ago, but I didn't fully understand it. I have a better grasp on the process now and I'm good to go to start tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up, and yes, if you wondered, I'm very new but learning fast. The forum is a great resource.

Foam Issue In Corny Keg on new brew?

A bit of background first, I kegged a nice IPA about 10 days ago, let it sit in the fridge for 24 hours to adjust then added the CO2 at 30# for 48 hours. When tested it was good but need a bit more carb, I left if for an additional 24 hours at 30#. After all that when I added the out tap I got...

GF filter issues with hop 'gunk'

This could have not come at a better time, for some reason I thought a false bottom would interfere with the boil but per David Heath in this video it will not. I actually subscribe to David's channel and I have learned a great deal from him. I will now begin the search for the filter.

GF filter issues with hop 'gunk'

Thanks for all the input, my first mission is the simplest, remember the spring and ball, why didn't I think of that?, Thanks thehasze! I will also try the whirlpool, that may wind up being a very simple solution. Thanks to all that contributed.
