    Not carbonating?

It wouldn't be a complete "why no carbonation yet" thread without a militant kegger. You sir, are the opposite of helpful to new brewers.

    Not carbonating?

Wait another week, then place one in the fridge for a day or so. If its not carbed even a little bit after 2.5 weeks, you may have a problem.

    Not carbonating?

Carbonation happens gradually. If you have nothing after 3 weeks, let us know. What was the og and fg of your brew? Bigger and darker beers take longer. My Irish red took a week. My stout took almost 5 weeks.

    Not carbonating?

I wouldn't worry until at least the 3rd or 4th week. Temp, beer style are factors too, but id say relax.

Can you describe "that extract flavor"?

I haven't brewed an extract kit yet that didn't taste good. I have no idea what the "extract taste" is. I should probably mention that I've only made 5 batches but none had a bad flavor.

    Does this look normal (2)

    pouring a home brew.

I need to pour mine slowly with glass tilted or it bubbles over. Is that normal for home-brewed or do I have a carb problem?

    pouring a home brew.

How do u folks pour a home brewed bottle? Slowly in a tilted glass? Thoughtlessly onto the bottom of the glass? No preference of pouring? Or drink straight from the bottle? Is there a right and wrong way? I pour slowly with glass tilted to avoid excessive foam.

    Need Hefeweitzen Help

Northern brewer has a bavarian hefeweizen that I just brewed. I've been drinking it for a few days and love it. I don't have anything to compare it too though. Find a glass that allows you to place the bottle in it upside down so you can let go of the bottle and let gravity do the pouring for...

    Dead Ringer IPA

to the original poster, The thread title caught my eye because I too had brewed the Dead Ringer Extract kit that very morning. I have to admit, I gave up checking OG for extract kits, because I assumed they were correct and any misreadings gave me one more thing to worry about. Anyhow, I'm...

    Dead Ringer IPA

If you did an extract kit, partial boil, followed by adding " top off " water, then your og measurement was likely wrong because your boiled worth and top off water hadn't mixed together well enough. Stratification or something like that? If u did all grain, I don't have a clue. Extract recipes...

    Waiting patiently?

I've never had a headache from 1 beer, but after I drink 12 or 13 homebrews, I get a little nauseous. Very strange. The headache usually comes the next morning.

    First bottle bomb!

I assumed bottle bombs shot the cap off? Surprised the glass bottom went out before the cap.

    Cleaning and Sanitizing Bottles

I understand. But how could u look at krausen and trub, only to be grossed out (for lack of a better term) by bubbles? Just messing with you. Mostly rhetorical question.

    Waiting patiently?

I try all my brews after 1 week. Some are ok, others are not. But even the not ready ones are somewhat drinkable. If you're at 10 days, drink up!
