Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

Probably not so long as you aren't shaking the thing up. I do 3gal batches in 6.5gal buckets, and I check my gravity about one day before I think fermentation should be done by. then if my FG is low enough I check it again the next day to see if I'm stable and then the next. So you should be...

    Have you used Mokutea Hops?

I really need to get into these NZ hops. I love spicy citrus so when I made myamerican wheat I used cascade and saaz. If some of the NZ hops are similar to what they have actually been described as I won't need to use both saaz and cascade.

    Have you used Mokutea Hops?

I have yet to try any NZ hops so this will be my first foray in that mystical island nation. I think it's hillarious that it is so hard to spell it right. On two different hop guides it was Motukea and at my LHBS it's labeled as being Motukea. I honestly trust all you here more though...

    Have you used Mokutea Hops?

Wait is it motueka? My LHBS has Motukea but not motueka... Lol

    Have you used Mokutea Hops?

Just realized auto-correct made it Mokutea... Should be Motukea. Guess I already had one too many...

    Have you used Mokutea Hops?

So I am going to be brewing a 3gal Motukea pale ale this weekend and am wondering what people's thoughts were on the Motukea hops? Flavor? Aroma? Pros Cons? Similar to? From what I have heard they are a very clean citrus hop that isn't grapefruit-y. I love the citrus of...

    BiaB possible for a 2.5gal batch ?

I have to agree. I did a NB De Belge Farmouse IPA kit and got well over the target 1.060 provided per kit instructions. I hit 1.068, 78% My 2 subsequent batches have been at 75% and 76% (on a 1.090 IIPA thAt ended up at 1.097) Aim for 70 and see what you get.

    BIAB forum...?

I am starting to lean this way since I took a look at some pure BIAB forums. There are plenty of resources out there. As for recipes: you can always scale recipes.

Totaly had that moment two weeks ago. My friend who was helping me replied, when the sun is high enough to shine in your eyes! Lol

    Cold Crash and Dry Hops

I use a fermentation chamber @67F because we get up into the 80's here in Hawaii, would you suggest dry hoping in my fermentation chamber or would leaving my secondary fermenter out of it be fine too?

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I agree. I just used 5.5ozs in a IIPA that was 3gals... Mind you I did have an OG of 1.097 I wouldn't mind upping the hops in the OPs recipe for a bit more flavor and aroma. Maybe bumping it up into the low 30s by only adding to the 20min addition and 5min addition with either flame out or...

    Cold Crash and Dry Hops

So After primary has stopped and I have a stable FG I'll dry hop for 5days and then cold crash in my fermentation chamber. I'm hoping the beer I brew this weekend won't take too long to ferment so I can somewhat time the cold crashes of both batches at the same time. I figure my IIPA is gonna...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I would up the OG to about 1.060-1.070 by upping the pale and Vienna. I might even swap out the Vienna for some MO. I would lower the cara-pils to about 5% and swap 10L crystal for maybe 20L too. That's just my suggestion to get it to IPA status. I'd also go look in the IPA recipe section...

BIAB 21# grain bill possible for 10 gallon batch?

I have never brewed extract or PM. I used a three keggle system that my friends had back in Oregon. When I moved back to Hawaii I still wanted to brew but had to save money to do it. So as I began planning I decided BIAB would be the best way to go. I have saved money on my equipment...

    BIAB forum...?

For me, I have been using iBrewMaster to help calculate my strike water volume and temp. So far everything has been spot on. The nice thing about BIAB is that you can still mash at semi-regular ratios and achieve great results. My first batch was the NB De Belge Farmhouse IPA. It's currently...

    Cold Crash and Dry Hops

Word. I was worried I'd lose my hoppy-ness aroma from the cold crash.

    Cold Crash and Dry Hops

And you don't get a grassy flavor/aroma? I have heard of a serious grassy-ness to beer that is dry hoped for a period over 7days.

    Cold Crash and Dry Hops

Should I dry hop my planned 4-7days then cold crash for an additional 3-5days or should I include my dry hopping into my cold crash?
