    HELP: Walk-in Cooler Ideas

This is great. I was looking for some insulation with a high R value. I will look into using a core of foam for the wall and metal sheathing, but I fear that may break the bank, and not be as sturdy. I will have to see. Vapor barrier I got, do i need it on the inside and the outside though...

    HELP: Walk-in Cooler Ideas

More cross posts as there is a lot of good information flowing on my board. I am doing it for both reasons. I have read and followed several builds of walk in coolers as DIY and all of them came in right around $1000 dollars. Mine will probably be more based on the fact that I am attempting to...

    HELP: Walk-in Cooler Ideas

I want to use a standard unit, but if after wiring it up it fails to get to my desired temp, I will use it to keep the bar at a comfortable level and go out and buy a real chilling unit.

    HELP: Walk-in Cooler Ideas

Posts from one of my forums, they are relevant so I figured I would cross post them.

    Electric Question

I have lots of din rail and terminal blocks I can send you, the other stuff will ahve to be a bit more specific once you have it all locked down.

Tell us about your brewing and beer-related injuries!

I hit my hand with a full spinning grinder... It sliced my glove and my thumb to the bone... lucky it was a very small point of contact and healed up pretty quickly.

    Electric Question

For your e-stop, you will want to place it before EVERYTHING on the control circuit. I can send you a 22.5mm e-stop with a normally closed contact block on it if it will help you to see what you are working with. I also have an enclosure if you want it outside of the main panel.

    HELP: Walk-in Cooler Ideas

Evening all, I am in the process of purchasing a new home, and I have already begun my RIMS system build to be able to produce qty's of beer. My wife and I are pretty excited to buy a house with a good size basement where we can build a full bar / entertainment room. A big part of this build...

Where to find an electronic enclosure?

You can not have ventilation and a waterproof enclosure. One thread at a time I am going to pull you all away from this crazy SSR kick that you are all on. Use a power relay; it needs no heatsink, costs less and will last 10x as long!! Grab you phonebook, and look up your local electrical...

RIMS Build on a budget - but still pretty advanced

I have a bunch of WAGO blocks, but none of them are spring clips. Allen Bradley, WAGO, Weidmuller etc... all have their own line of spring clip blocks, I actually don't have a single one in my box of like 5000 blocks. And thanks for the compliment... It has a long way to go, but I am getting...

    Electric Question

Great post CodeRage, it is like a mini lesson on industrial controls. I will have to disagree with the SSR though. It seems everyone on here is quick to run to them, and I have two of them in my panel for my pumps (just as a space issue as the yare 1/4" thick and mount on din rail). I still...

How to track a guy who hit my car... suggesstions?

Just give the note to the cops. They will get all of his info and grab him on a hit and run.

    Electric Question

Here are some tips just from reading through. I would be afraid of using the 50A breaker if you are going to have more than one element on at a time. I am personally using 2 30A 240 GFCI breakers so that each element is on it's own circuit. You mentioned 3 pole selector switch, and yes those...

    Electric Question

Ed. I am building mostly the same setup. I have 2 2pole 30A gfci breakers to power the two primary 5500W elements. I also have a 1 pole 20A for the controls and the rims element. Both the rims and control are fused in the panel. I will have 3 wires to plug in on brewday (if I do not hard wire...

RIMS Build on a budget - but still pretty advanced

Good call. But it is budget for me, and I can recommend close to identical parts for cheap. I call this budget as it is costing me very little and I have already started designing our nano brewery which I expect to cost over 8000 so under 1000 is quite a budget. Even if you paid list for all of...

RIMS Build on a budget - but still pretty advanced

Ughhhhh I must say that I 100% prefer brewing to cutting steel and making things to brew with. I just keep looking at all of my parts and thinking ok just a little more for tons better beer.

    Brewery Logo Inside

 Great post. You seem VERY informed on the old conflicts (some still existing). I am honestly neither Protestant or Catholic. My family is all Catholic though. The stripe was originally Red to match my coat of arms, but it looked out of place.

RIMS Build on a budget - but still pretty advanced

Buying Allen Bradley is like buying a Rolls Royce of controls. Some things are worth the cost, some are not. This PID is crazy programmable, and I can do it from my laptop. It is a little overkill, but it was free to me. The second one I will pay for, but it will hurt a little. I believe that...

RIMS Build on a budget - but still pretty advanced

The legs on the stand will be bolted in lots of places... It is hard to see in the pics, but it can slide right between the lower and upper cross member as well as the frame rail. This is three blot positions on the top. There will be another rail on the bottom for a shelf and the pumps, the...
