This was just too awesome not to post!

I will never understand how a parent can let their child get to be that fat without doing something. It's disgusting to think more parents these days just plop their kids down in front of a TV instead of kicking them outside into the yard.

    1st PM Stout Label

Really like the name and the label minus the font as everyone else has mentioned. What program are you using to edit it?

    Working out a new label

So I've got this bourbon vanilla porter that frankly is killer. I can't imagine what its going to be like in 5-6 months. Beer lovers and drinkers in general are its prey so I've decided to call it... Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated. It looks great printed out on the new color...

    Pics of portable sculptures

I've been trying to design something myself that is somewhat foldable and can be more easily stored when not brewing. My garage doesn't offer the space it used to and I hate moving around hockey and lacrosse equipment each time I want to brew so I'm looking to come up with something that is easy...

HBT... my story (and why beer is taking over my apartment)

It always amazes me the way my carboys keep multiplying year after year. It's as if they're mating or something. Welcome to the hobby.

    Results of a boil-over?

Depends on what you did with it following the boil over. If you kept it at a rolling boil you'll be fine. If you let it sit some while cleaning up then you might not get as tasty a beer as you would have without the boil over. Nothing sucks more than your first boil over. It took me 2 hours...

    World Series

Let's go Phillies! I almost laid down $1100 this weekend on game 3 tickets, almost. Then I got next month's bills in and figured I'll just watch the games from home on my sofa with some homebrew instead of on a plastic seat and $8 Macrosludge.

So whatcha gonna do if we get another Stimulus?

I'm going to buy stock with it, surely it can't keep going down right?

    Better Buy: Thief or Auto-siphon?

I would go auto-siphon. You can get away with a turkey baster for extracting samples from a carboy but when it comes to transferring between vessels your going to love the auto-siphon.

    IT'S SATURDAY: What ya brewin'?

I just got to a rolling boil with a Belgian White. Never brewed one of these before so I figured what the hell and grabbed the ingredients last night. :ban:

Is a Carboy Cover or Shirt Needed to Keep Light Away?

All of my carboys wear black hoodies. They keep out the light, and I usually pull the hood over airlock just in case. You can buy plain hoodies at arts and crafts shops for $8. Well worth it. I also like them because they tend to regulate the temps better than a T. Plus it freaks people out...

    What size Better Bottle?

I use the 6 gallon with the spigot for primary and a 6 gallon regular for my 2nd. For the primary the 6 gallon provides just enough room for the krausen while allowing some foam to run out of your airlock. Since switching to better bottles my glass carboys have been collecting dust.

Ludwigs? Yeah great little spot for a beer. There is apparently another beer garden opening up in 09' on South St. What are you guys brewing now? I'm in the Far NE now working on a couple of beers to keep me warm through the winter while prepping a simple cinnamon peach wheat for the holidays.

    Adding brandy to a secondary

That's what I was thinking. I'm going to split a batch up and try this out in a 3 gallon secondary to see how it'll turn out.

    Please Critique - Coffee Stout

You will be fine with the Williamette. I'd go so far to have you throw another .5 oz of it in with the Centennial towards the end of the boil. The recipe looks solid, good luck.

    Coopers Carbonation Drops

Is there any affect taste wise when using these drops?

    Adding brandy to a secondary

Hello everyone, Currently I have 2 carboys in primary filled with a porter I've been working on. One is going the bourbon/vanilla route with oak cubes being used as well. But with my other I was thinking of adding a brandy of some sort, maybe a blackberry brandy into the secondary to see...

    Cheers from Philly

I grew up in Frankford and that was where I brewed my first batch about 6 years ago with a Mr Beer. I gotta admit it came out pretty good and thus I've been hooked since.
