Drunkenmonkey, that is a very nice brewery! I have pretty much the exact same stuff only a smaller 20 gallon system. Where did you get the stainless steel rollers to mount your chiller, pumps, strainer and oxy system?
I use Summit. To be honest it really doesn't matter for a bittering addition as long as it's relatively high AA so you don't have to use a cartoon of it.
Judging is not easy! Calling any judge a moron because you don't agree with his comments is unacceptable. He is trying to give you feedback that compared to the other example in that flight yours lacked the hop aromas he was expecting. I've judged several competitions and your scores are not...
I've done 2 Pro-Ams over the last 2 years (only been brewing a bit over 2 years) but my opinion is that it is a great honor to be chosen to brew with another Brewer and I view it more as a collaboration. Their are some things that a large system may not be able to do such as a step mash that my...
I know the person who developed Reggie. I've used it several times entering competitions last year and after you use it a bit it's a lot easier to use. It might need a few tweaks but I liked it overall.
I know how you feel. I read the same reviews and took a chance anyway knowing that I'd return them if I wasn't happy. I had Blichmann kettles previously and got tired of taking them apart to clean them constantly. The Stouts are thicker metal than the Blichmann. All of my friends are really...
This is part of what I do for a living and what I'd do in my basement if it wasn't fully finished:http://www.concretepolished.com
It looks really cool!
I got Stout Herms system and am really pleased with it. It's not perfect but all the welds are polished and they offer things the others don't like the round bottom on my boil kettle that lets me whirlpool and collects all the trub in the center.
Use an S bubbler with just enough Star San to cover the bottom of the S. It won't suck into the beer that way but will let air in to relieve the pressure difference.
This is what I use...Had several laying around from my job...wear them out have them rebuilt and keep using them. Ended up with 4 working ones so one got pressed into permanent Monster Mill 3 duty.

Just to clarify I use these...
Engines and transmissions last several design years so even though my 1991 was a bit old they used that tranny until 2004 or 06. And I was a little pissed off that I payed $12,000 in tranny replacements (Ford payed for the first one) for a $17k truck. Ford can go to hell! And I know how they...
I bought the Ford NEW in 1991...owned it 8 years. Bought the GMC NEW in 1998.. Owned it 15 years! The Ford was sold because it was a POS! The GMC was sold because I was tired of it. The OP was looking for a used vehicle! I think the info is relative! The reason Ford is #1 is they are...
