I’ve gone back and forth about getting a hop spider as well to keep sediment going into my carboy. However, I’m more concerned about how well the hops will impart their bittering and aroma to the wort when contained to the basket, rather than fully immersed and mixed.

I just picked up two corny kegs off Craigslist for $35 each, which I thought was a steal. However, the previous owner apparently left some beer in them for what he believed was “a few years”. I opened them up and one just smelled like IPA, but the other had some funk to it, like gym locker...

I have not, and this will be my first time growing hops. I’ve been a backyard gardner longer than I’ve been brewing so I figured I would try to diversify what I’m planting for some variety.
