    So who's brewing this weekend?

Going to do a Falconers Flight. Last time i tried it, ended dumping it all out. Tried a newly available locally grown grain. Was pretty bad. Time to experience the good stuff again. Love those hops.

Unboxing the Nano from CO Brewing

Yea, im familiar with the system, don't own one. I just know a bad connection can alter the reading on a PID. Hope you find the fault!

Unboxing the Nano from CO Brewing

Im assuming the use of a PID controller of some type with a PT100 type sensor? Run the system and wiggle the temp probe wire, see if you can make it change temps. Ive had that happen. Faulty solder connection was the fault.

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

I can vouch for those findings. You can definately smell it in the waste water. Even on the tubing after rinsing it off after the brew day, so the DMS is certainly being purged from the boil kettle. Largest % of Pilsner ive used in a batch using the system was about 30% and no ill effects to...

Unboxing the Nano from CO Brewing

I didnt feel like getting 3/8" silicone tubing. I had some of the cheap, clear thin wall 3/8" tubing laying around. I put that on the barb, cut it off flush to the end of the barb, then put my 1/2" silicone tubing over that, with a hose clamp.

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

yep, can't have that camlocked on the fitting. Bigger elbow perhaps and just stick the hose in. Gotta be able to breathe so to speak...

LF suggestions on brew rig top.

Hey all. I had started brewing using propane burners on a steel brewstand using keggles. Worked great, but have since went all electric, and larger kettles. Im looking to perhaps build a new wooden stand with full top. Is there a poly that will withstand the temps that would be encountered under...

SERIOUSLY stuck sparge in new mash tun

Gonna have to try this. Im usually undershooting my mash temps, so some degree of panic sets in and i fire up the pump and RIMS tube to get temps back to where they should be. Cpl deg higher strike water and a 15 min rest it is next brew day.

What I did for beer today

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Well, did my first actual brewday with this condenser. I did a water test run thru a cpl weeks ago, with only 8 gal water just to get a feel for what to expect. On the test, i had cut power back to even 45% power and maintained a good boil as long as i wasnt removing the lid often. This recipe...

Unboxing the Nano from CO Brewing

I don't have that setup, but in general you are on the right track. You should have the pump lower than the vessel. Personally i dont think the inlet pointing down is a huge concern, as long as you dont have alot of tubing hanging below the pump. Keep your hoses as short as you can as to avoid...
