    Munich and Victory Pale Ale

Cool, thanks. This recipe originally started as a SMASH, but it evolved into a pale ale. I chose Citra because I just had a citra single hop IPA from Knee Deep Brewing Co. that blew me away. I was going after the same hop profile....... I may just bitter with a little Chinook instead, but now...

    Munich and Victory Pale Ale

Thanks guys...... I will likely down the Victory to 8 ounces and add some crystal..... I'm trying to keep the recipe as simple as possible, but I still want a malty character that comes in slightly under the hop flavor. I was thinking the Munich would give me that......

    Munich and Victory Pale Ale

Hi All- Working on a pale ale recipe..... Wanted a dry, clean, and light bodied beer with hints of caramel and nuts..... Was thinking along with American 2 row, adding 12 oz. each of Munich and Victory to achieve that. Has anybody used these malts together in this fashion? "This is...

    All Grain Stout Help?

Guys, I recently moved to all grain, but I brewed this partial mash stout that was incredible. I really want to make it again and enter it in a local competition. I used 6 lbs. of dark LME in the PM recipe, and I was wondering what base grain I could use to replace that with..... Any...

    Brew Dogs...

I agree with smccarter... I thought last nights got a little stagnate. I do like hearing about the top pubs and breweries in the area, the brewing process, and de-flowering craft beer virgins.... I could honestly do without them snorting coffee grounds and putting nitrogen on their nipples, but...

    Holiday Ale Recipe????

Hi Everybody- I originally posted this in the "General Beer Discussion" page but thought it would fit better here. I'm looking for a little input on a holiday partial mash recipe I am planning on brewing and giving away to friends at Christmas this year. I have never written a holiday ale...

    Holiday Brew???

Thanks Zamial. I like the orange zest idea, I'm all over it. I was mashing @ 158 to try to get a little more body, but I guess the dextrin will handle that, right? I'll go with the Belgian yeast too. Should be awesome! I'll let you know how it turns out.....

    Brew Dogs...

I agree.... Why make some crazy beer that nobody will want? Just make some good brews and show the process. Would have been cool if they went into the malts and hops that they used. But, all in all a pretty entertaining show.....

    My 2nd brew...Ironhorse Brewery's Irish Death.

I'm not sure why it seems to be trending to skip the secondary..... I love racking to secondary because you get to watch the beer clear up, and you get a lot less sediment in your bottles. I say it's well worth the extra effort........

    Holiday Brew???

I never really looked into what is in mulling spices..... Maybe trade the mulling spices out for something else?

Hi Everybody- I'm looking for a little input on a holiday partial mash recipe I am planning on brewing and giving away to friends at Christmas this year. I have never written a holiday ale recipe so any help would be totally appreciated. I'm after a big body, subtle spice, slightly sweet, IPA...
