    You guys are amazing

Your comment is the EXACT reason why love this website so much. I'm just like the OP (fermented for 2 weeks, 1 week in bottles) and had to try one and the fact that I am able to drink it w/o cringing and feeling a buzz makes me so happy!! You guys are awesome and I seriously can't express...

    Fermentation temperature control??

So I have been reading these forums for a few weeks now and the next and probably the most important thing that I need to do whenever I finish moving is to find some way to maintain fermentation temperature. Currently I have my beer fermenting in my closet with is ~ 75-78 F using my metal...

    Beer Brewing Competitions

I am a new brewer (have a honey brown ale kit conditioning and a summer ale kit fermenting at the moment), but one thing that I think would be extremely, EXTREMELY fun is entering a beer that I created into a competition and meeting all the other brewers, seeing their beer, etc. So, I was...

    Everything going alright? (pics)

Lol, this made me laugh. Most people tell us n00bs to get a clear one so we CAN see. I'm a n00b so don't listen to me too much but that looks like a good beer.

    3rd Time's a Charm!

This is exactly what I needed to hear. I just bottled my first batch and I have my second in primary right now, but I am kinda worried that if it comes out badly then I would have spent all the time and effort for nothing. Just hearing a newbie success story (would you still be called a newbie...

    'Swamp Coolers' and temperature control

Wow, this is aweomse. I have been wondering how I am going to be able to maintain cooler temps so I can brew lagers, but this makes it look easy! Thanks for sharing.

    1st Brew!!!!

Congrats! I'm new too (only 2 kits so far), so take what I say with a grain of salt, but from what I have read and heard being that close to your OG is pretty good. I actually have a hard time reading my OG bc all of the film from my wort clings around my hygrometer and I can't see exactly where...

    Cooling wort like a noob.

Wow guys, thanks for the advice/help. Most forums I've been on the noobs are treated like crap, but all of this helps out a lot. Next time I brew I'm going to have some ice ready, whether that's in water bottles or just bagged ice or whatever. I like what you said ChessRockwell about adding...

    Cooling wort like a noob.

I do about 3 - 4 gallon boil, my pot is a "5 gallon" pot, but every time I pour into primary it's short 1.5 - 2 gallons. I just didn't realize that I'd run out of ice so fast and that it'd take so long to chill.

    Cooling wort like a noob.

So I bottled my first 5 gallon batch today (honey brown ale) and brewed my second kit ever (summer ale), and boy did I learn a lot! :D I thought I'd post this so any other new people can read and learn from this so they don't make the same mistakes I did. I don't have a wort cooler, so I was...

    Cleaning primary feementer

Hello everyone, I am new to HBT and beer brewing in general and I am going to be bottling my first batch ever tomorrow and I was wondering what the best way to clean my bucket is? I was just going to wash it out with soap and water and a sponge since I don't have any other cleaning supplies. Any...
