Draft block/damper on hood exhaust ducting?

I live in MN and am used to the attempts to keep heat inside. I would think something as simple as an in line dryer vent flap would work.

Spa Panel: Too good to be true?

    I paid $40 total also.

Spa Panel: Too good to be true?

I got my panel today. Everything looks fine with it. It does appear to be an open box item, does have a GE gfi breaker with all the supporting instructions and stickers from GE inside the panel. After receiving the panel and checking it out, my concerns are minimal at this point.

    grain mill

I have a monster mill 3 and it is great! I ordered mine direct from the company with the optional 1/2" shaft so it could be motorized. Here's a pic.

Spa Panel: Too good to be true?

I just bought one from the site. The reviews from recent on HD seem good. The reviews from 2010 and earlier are questionable but worth the chance IMO.

Building my Kal inspired control panel

I got the 22mm holes cut out using a Greenlee 1/2" cunduit punch. It worked great! I would highly recommend this method if you either can afford to buy or have a friend that works for electrical or utility companies and you can borrow one. I also posted a pic of the ground post on the door...

Building my Kal inspired control panel

I need to get the bottom holes done then I will be moving on to painting and the setup. I am finding that the hole cutting and planning takes quite a bunch of time. I have 99% of the components for the exterior and inside so I am hoping for this to go faster after the painting process. I...

Building my Kal inspired control panel

I thought I would begin the holes for the SSRs and heatsink also, then make sure it is a good fit. It all worked out really good (and easy) this time. Hopefully I can get all these holes cut soon so I can move on to the paint. For now (based on price) I plan on getting the enclosure powder...

Building my Kal inspired control panel

I then started the rectangular and square holes. I began with a Dremel and after breaking three mandrels, I decided to use a jigsaw and metal blade (as Kal already recommended) which worked much better! I bought the enclosure from ebrewsupply because they still had the enclosures with only...

Building my Kal inspired control panel

I started working on my control panel recently and I thought I would post pics as I move forward. I have already learned much working on this. I began to cut the holes for the front. I used different carbon drill bits and a drill press to make the starter holes. I have a friend that does...

    NEMA 16-30 vs 14-30 inlet

Thanks, although after looking closer one is twist lock and a standard 14-30 is not. However, I may still get the 16-30 inlet and just find a 16-30 plug for the end of my dryer cord to go into the inlet. I don't think any code applies since it is being installed into the bottom of the...

    NEMA 16-30 vs 14-30 inlet

Sorry, I tought they were universal. Here is the 14-30 that Kal recommended on his site: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Male-Locking-Flanged-Inlet-UB-Inc-Nema-L14-30-125-250V-30-amp-4-wire-/281026453821?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item416e7b613d and here is the 16-30...

    NEMA 16-30 vs 14-30 inlet

Hi all. Would a NEMA 16-30 inlet work for my Kal clone control panel in place of the 14-30 inlet receptacle?

Thanks for the inside scoop! I just ordered mine. Cheers! I also got the New Belgium glasses too. Good deals!

    Deal on relays

For those looking for affordable relays that are probably built with a higher quality, I found these on ebay. I just bought three for my Kal Clone and got them today. They look pretty decent and heavy duty (build before the days of cheap China labor). As the auction mentioned, there was a little...

Anyone tried this timer in their CP?

Hi all, I am hoping to find someone who can compare the Auber JSL-71 (which may be a new timer to compete with Omega) with the Omega PTC-21 that Kal used in his build. Here is a link to the timer: http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16&products_id=290...
