Alpha Acid Content- is the package accurate?

Darn, I figured. Hahah well I have a personal preference for lower IBUs/lower gravity beers so thankfully even if it were 8.5% acid content I am only looking at about 63 IBUs (1.057 OG) for a BU:GU of 1.1 or so. Maybe it was a happy accident:) We shall see. This was originally more of a light...

Alpha Acid Content- is the package accurate?

Hi All, So after a 2 year hiatus I finally broke out my recipe (first) to improve on it and brew another batch. It's a Citra/Amarillo IPA, and my question pertains to the alpha acid content of the Amarillo hops. All online resources state that Amarillo should be somewhere near 8% or more...

    First Recipe- Citra Biscuit Ale?

Thanks guys. The flaked wheat was for head retention and body, and 2-row as a base malt for it's diastatic power. Hope to try some by mid January (just went into primary a few days ago), will post back with some updates! Cheers

    First Recipe- Citra Biscuit Ale?

Cool, thanks! It is a 5 gallon batch, forgot that tidbit. I initially wanted to focus on Citra as I heard so many good things about it, and then decided to do a combination to add a little complexity. Maybe I will add more Citra late addition as you suggested to make it dominant while...

Hey all. So I just put together my first recipe using a spreadsheet I came across and previous kit experiences (~6+). How does it look? Grain Bill 5 lbs Light DME 1 lb Briess 2-row 1 lb flaked wheat 6-8 oz Biscuit Hops 0.5 oz Chinook (60 min) 0.5 oz Amarillo, 0.5 oz Citra (10 min) 1...
