    Ward's Labs Water Test

I just sent a sample there a few weeks ago. I got the 5A test. Save your money and don't get the kit. Instead wash and clean a water bottle and send it there. They give information/instructions on how to do this on the submittal sheet under Sample Submissions. This will cost you $27.25 + S&H

    Brewing water question

+1 on using your RO. I have very hard well water from a ground well, and sent it to Ward Labs for testing. My alkalinity was through the roof ,(~300ppm). Because of this I started using my RO system and adding minerals to achieve the water profile I want, since some beers call for different...

    Water question

Thanks for that link. After reading it I've decided to treat both my strike and sparge the same for this batch. If I do another in the future I'll switch up the sparge with straight RO and see if I can tell a difference. Thanks

Can someone help me understand this recipe?

I'll try and make it a point to post how the Brew day goes, and if I can remember I'll try and post the finished results. Most of my buddies are a part of the group that thinks it's "meh" also, but I think it's a delicious DIPA, so hopefully it turns out well; or else I'm going to have a lot...

Can someone help me understand this recipe?

Thanks for looking up that recipe/link. It saved me time and matches up perfectly for what I have and gives me a lot more info for this recipe than I previously had for this clone. Can't wait for Brew day tomorrow

Can someone help me understand this recipe?

Thank you for the replies. Thanks for explaining the hop stand; I haven't heard of that until now. I was also wondering if some of those hops were for dry hopping since I didn't see it specify anywhere. I guess I need to decide now if I want to dry hop or do a hop stand. I'll try looking at...

Can someone help me understand this recipe?

Hello everyone, I'm on to my 4th all-grain batch and decided to do a Bell's Hopslam clone. http://beersmithrecipes.com/viewrecipe/1257/conehead-hopslam-clone Realized once I bought everything and got home that they have 2 different Simcoe additions at Flame out. (2oz & 3oz). This clearly...
