    The Best Wort Chiller

I just purchased a custom hydra and used it this past weekend. I have a 15g BK and usually do 5g batches and on occasion 10g. Talking w Jaded they recommended decreasing the height of the hydra to bring the coils a couple of inches to submerge completely to my general post boil level. My...

    New BIAB False Bottoms

I can see the use for these with recirculating needs and eBIAB but for traditional baggers can you not just adjust mash temps while stirring to avoid scorching the bag? And heres a dumb Q but do you remove this before chilling with an immersion chiller and if not wouldn't this throw some coils...

Saison Boulevard Smokestack Series Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale Clone

I brewed this using recipe from OP about 4wks ago. In primary at 78F used WL 530 (abbey similar to 3787). Used a 2l starter and had a blowout from my 8.6G speidel fermenter! 3 gallon head space was not enough. 80% attenuation 1074 to 1014 I did taste it last night and the 530 really shined...

    Brew Kettle advice

I searched high and low for a 15g kettle and I ended up with a concord off ebay and then a simple ball valve from bargainfittings. Get a step drill for easy install and pass on all the other metal inside the kettle. With BIAB less is more. good luck!

    FirstTimer Ouch...

Shack01 et al. This is a revelation! Ive thought about letting wort sit in bk for a bit, using my puny extract IC then gravity draining into primary when its down to 100F or so. Stick the bucket into an ice bath until 65f. I use buckets/spiedels so shouldnt be to diff. Sounds like i could...

    Need a brewing kettle.. suggestions?

Im just getting into BIAB gear from extracts and bought a concord 15gallon of ebay or under 100$ and 30$ valve and bulkhead from bargainfittings and I think I am set. Id like to do full boils and with a 15g I wont have to worry. Highly recommend going bigger as 10gallon brews are in my future...

15 gallon kettle - What to buy?

Just got a 15g concord monster yesterday (100$) and have 30$ of valves/elbows coming to me from bargain fittings. Great price for a good DYI pot. The bottom is a bit thinner than the sides but otherwise looks great for the price!

Best place to buy a new brew pot?

I have the williams 32q with the ball valve. I am a newbie and was using it for extract and mini mash boils. Worked well, but i did have some issues keeping temp regulated while mashing. Its ow light and inexpensive. Im moving to biab and investing in a 15g so this may become my hlt.
