    Best SMaSH recipe you've made???

Since Beerbomb resurrected this thread, I'll add mine. :) My favorite SMaSH I've brewed was my Belgian Blackberry SMaSH. Pale Ale malt with Bramling Cross hops. It also had 1lb of clear Belgian candi syrup, 1/2lb of lactose and 3lbs of blackberry puree. I used Imperial Napoleon yeast.

    tilt v.s. brew bug

I am finishing up my first brew with a Tilt right now, a Marzen. It was really nice being able to monitor gravity and temps. I am doing back to back brew days this weekend, so I bought a second unit. I've been using my brewing tablet to update my Google sheets, but I have built a RaspberryPi...

Unboxing the Nano from CO Brewing

I don't have the Nano Brew system yet, but I've never used a secondary vessel. I ferment in bottling buckets with a SS ball valve. When fermentation is complete, I cold crash for 3-4 days, then transfer directly from the ball valve into the out side of the keg. Prior to that I filled the keg...

    PPG of Dark Chocolate

I talked with my friend who is the head brewer at my local brewery and he said the oil should slick up on the surface after the boil, so we will just leave it in the kettle.

    PPG of Dark Chocolate

Anyone here have any idea what the PPG of dark chocolate is? Not the malt, but the actual chocolate. I am building a recipe with a late addition of 60% cacao dark chocolate and wondering how much effect it will have on the OG. TIA

    Cold crash purpose

I finished cold crashing my berliner weisse today (2 days @ 34* down from 66*) and the amount of Starsan in my 3 piece airlock was the same as when I started.

    Cold crash purpose

I cold crash in my chest freezer fermentation chamber. I typically put a layer of CO2 in the fermenter when I dry hop, and since it is heavier than O2, I'm not too worried about a little O2 getting sucked in during cold crash. I also put ball valves in my fermenter buckets and by cold...

After reviewing my notes, I did only use one packet. I mixed up the IPA I just finished. :)

    Blonde Ale Ridgeline Raspberry Blonde

This is my first recipe post here. The blonde recipe is based on my friend Will Trail's recipe with some minor tweaks for water chemistry and pH. The intent of this beer was to make something my wife would enjoy so she wouldn't mind the new kegerator in the house. :) What came of it was a beer...
