looking for 1/2" OD stainless tubing

That is awesome! What a great resource. Thanks!

looking for 1/2" OD stainless tubing

Does anyone have about a 1-foot scrap piece from a tubing coil? I'm looking to lash on a length of SS pipe onto my immersion chiller, and hook it up to my pump for circulating hot wort and trying to create a whirlpool. Having a hard time finding just a short piece, instead of the full 25-foot...

Pressurized Closed Loop Corny Keg Fermenting

How can you tell if foam was reduced? I thought that a benefit of "closed loop" transfer was that foam was reduced because you're basically pouring beer from one vessel to another at the same pressure - equalized because the gas ports are connected. It sounds like you might have had the...

Pressurized Closed Loop Corny Keg Fermenting

Damn, that's a lot of kegs. :-) What does your pipeline look like? I mean what styles, and how long do they sit before tapping?

Where to buy? Glass rinser for regular sink

Might be a custom job. Also looks like it would put an awful lot of strain on the faucet joints. I know that after a while (with hard water deposit buildup), mine has to be pressed down pretty hard to actuate it. You might find the right parts to cobble together something similar here...

Pressurized Closed Loop Corny Keg Fermenting

This is my first time trying it, based on reading about it from others. If it goes badly I'll report back!

Pressurized Closed Loop Corny Keg Fermenting

Yes - one ounce of Amarillo when filling the keg, just prior to pitching. I've done it this way before, with no clog. I'm counting on the idea that they've been in there long enough that they've settled down to the bottom. Also, I have one CBDS but also made a few of these...

Pressurized Closed Loop Corny Keg Fermenting

Consider getting a second CBDS for your serving keg, and putting your dry hops in the serving keg prior to transfer. Then you can do a pressurized, closed-loop transfer from fermenter keg to serving keg, and not worry about O2 or having to use priming sugar. I've got an American IPA in the...

Oxidation after first pour from tap

How do you clean your tap, lines, and connectors? Do you disassemble the connectors and tap with every cleaning? If there's any doubt, maybe you have access to a picnic tap you can use on the next fresh keg? New line, thoroughly cleaned connector, and picnic tap. Hopefully that will tell you...

Robobew and immersion chilling: lid? whirlpool?

How do the Robobrew owners who use an immersion chiller (like the one that comes with the Gen3 kit) find is the best way to chill? I brewed my second beer on it this weekend, and had these concerns: 1. The lid doesn't fit on when the immersion chiller is in the kettle. It's glass, so there's...

Pressurized Closed Loop Corny Keg Fermenting

Personally, I'd try #1 if you're going to use priming sugar and #2 if you're going to force carb. You might keep a little more yeast in suspension if you don't cold crash before transfer. But I think they're all pretty reasonable options.

Pressurized Closed Loop Corny Keg Fermenting

Why not chill it way down and wait for everything to settle? There will be less foam at low temperature, and then you can check your poppet for hop debris. You might be able to blow out any residual debris in the line after that, and then pour clear beer afterwards. Does your CBDS have the...

No post fermentation finings is awesome.

Yes, I think so. There are a couple of good threads, including here: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/index.php?threads/275638/

Oh yeah, and no strainer bag either (floating dip tube)

No post fermentation finings is awesome.

Cool. Seems very reasonable. I'm trying the same thing with an IPA I brewed on Friday. :-) An extra charge of Amarillo pellets in the serving keg, ready to transfer beer onto. I didn't pre-purge with bottled CO2, though. Just relying on CO2 from the fermenter. Also, using floating dip...

No post fermentation finings is awesome.

"was also dry hopped in the keg with about 30 grams (1 ounce) of Styrian Goldings (I have my own technique for this)". Secret technique?

DIY/poor man's floating diptube for clear beer

Does anyone think that the floating dip tube could be modified to also function as a beer level indicator, like this? https://www.ballandkeg.com/ I'm thinking some sort of plastic or teflon-coated magnet on the metal float, and trying to find some of those magnetic beads for the outside.

Use STC-1000 with Danby Beverage Center

Here's what I did without altering the fridge. Find the thermostat / temperature probe inside the fridge. Mine was behind the back wall. It took 3 or 5 screws to undo, and it was obvious that it was the thermostat probe on a long wire. I think it might have been near the fan on the inside...

Adafruit flow meter attachment to shank?

Is this going where I think it's going? In other words, if you're going to have this connected to an app on your phone, so you can see when junior is helping himself to beer, then sign me up for one when you get it all worked out! :-)
