Autumn Seasonal Beer Richard's Pumpkin Ale

Just Brewed this yesterday, dropped the maple syrup and upped the 2-row by 2 lbs. Ended up roasting the two cans of pumpkin in the oven and then adding it to the mash, ended up with a nice orange tinted wort. Added just a dash of dried ginger to the spice list and am fermenting with S-05. The...

    protivin centennial beer

Anybody know anything about protivin centennial beer? My friend has one in his closet that he found in Iowa when he was little. Looks like it was made in 1978 by Walters brewery. I thought it was a pretty cool old beer can, not sure how rare it is as I've never been to that area.

    Homemade Ceramic Bottles

@Dynachrome- Are those replacement EZ top swing tops? If so those are what I have used for the first swing top bottles before experimenting with the corks.

Funny things you've overheard about beer

Just recently got an anheuser busch keggle and was talking about it to a brew buddy. Somewhere in the conversation my girlfriend looked at me very confusingly and said, "What did you just ask him?" Anheuser Busch to her sounded like I had asked, "And how's your bush?"

Best Craigslist find EVER in the history of homebrewing.

My score yesterday was two five gallon ball lock kegs, a 20lb co2 tank, regulator, and a chest freezer with temp controller for $175. After asking if he had any more brewing stuff for sale I ended up with a really nice keggle with thermometer and stainless ball valve and two glass 6 gallon...

    Homemade Ceramic Bottles

Update- Opened one of the corked ceramic bottles over Fathers Day weekend. It had the same carbonation as the same beer in traditional glass bottles. So that is pretty exciting, I have six test bottles left with beer still in them. When I open the next one I will try and remember to take a...

    Homemade Ceramic Bottles

The shelves are made out of "waste" slabs leftover from somebody milling juniper into lumber. We normally cut them down and use them to fire the wood kiln, but I salvaged a couple to make the shelves. It made perfect sense to use the same wood that fires the kiln to display the work that was fired.
