Gardening: My Tomatoe and Pepper Progress

First time growing “real deal” variety hot peppers. Super happy with them and they will definitely be a staple from now on. They don’t have overpowering heat and have great flavor, and big! Now to figure out what to do with them. Been putting them on pizza and just did a batch of spicy bread and...

Gardening: My Tomatoe and Pepper Progress

Peppers have finally started to go crazy. Picked a bunch of jalapeños and tried a recipe for “cowboy candy” or candied jalapeños. Tomatoes are coming on too, will hopefully be making salsa soon.

Gardening: My Tomatoe and Pepper Progress

Peppers are finally starting to make a nice comeback. The sweet peppers are really starting to come on. Tomatoes are still fairly stunted but we are starting to get alot of green tomatoes. One of the most prolific producers right now is a ton of volunteer tomatillo plants all over the garden.

Gardening: My Tomatoe and Pepper Progress

We finally got around to planting our peppers. Our tomatoes had a rough start but are starting to come back but are pretty stunted. We feel about 2 weeks behind but it’s nice to see things coming along. Going to maybe try and get some mulch down in the next couple days.

    Ticks

We have guineas, they have been very easy to keep. We have them with chickens and I think that helps them go back into the coop at night. Otherwise coyotes and owls would probably make quick work of them. They are loud, but fun to watch roam. We don’t have any neighbors but I could see them...

Gardening: My Tomatoe and Pepper Progress

Well planted maybe half of our tomato plants last night. So of course today there has been 30-40mph winds all afternoon. Hopefully they pull through. Next week is supposed to be in the mid to high 90s so they are getting a good trial by fire.

Gardening: My Tomatoe and Pepper Progress

Ready for a beer after this morning. Starting to look like a garden now. Looking forward to getting plants in the ground.

Gardening: My Tomatoe and Pepper Progress

Our first year starting tomatoes and peppers from seed and they are really doing great! Now just trying to be patient enough to not get them in the ground too early. We are trying to have a very substantial garden this year as we have the space. Just got the fence almost finished. Weather has...

    New house, outdoor brew area/bar

More progress today, soon flooring work will begin. Then will start working on the upstairs bathroom. It feels like maybe someday I will even brew again.

    New house, outdoor brew area/bar

Extremely slow progress, has been over a month since getting any work done, but took advantage of a personal business day and got some time put in. Dry fit the sink, still have to finish the countertops, but finally got the hole cut, which took a bit of internal back and forth until I was...

    Homemade hot sauce recipes

Got some bottles off amazon to put the hot sauce in. I do a fair amount of canning and processing, but only ever use traditional canning jars and don’t have any experience with hot sauce. Any tips on proper storage for these? For now I’m keeping it all in a fridge.

    New house, outdoor brew area/bar

Progress has gone to a super slow crawl, but was able to get a little plumbing done in the cellar and started on the backsplash last week.

    Homemade hot sauce recipes

Tried my first hot sauce today, had a bunch of habaneros from the garden that I wasn’t sure what to do with. This thread inspired me. I tried just using all orange ingredients plus a sweet onion.

    Craigslist find brag

North Central Oregon. I worked in Montana for a very short while and really enjoyed it and could have stayed longer. But a good job opportunity came up back near home and being a fifth generation Oregonian makes me kind of like the state.

This was two winters ago, usually not that much snow though.

    Craigslist find brag

No harm no foul, I think one of the factors that helped was that the kegs were listed under “Cory Kegs”. I’m wondering if less people saw the listing because of that.

    Craigslist find brag

Probably a great idea, I think that’s how I’m going to proceed. Some still are 1/4 to 1/2 full Of unknown liquid. I hit the pressure relief on one and it smelled vaguely of pop maybe, I haven’t had time to start going through them yet.
