5 Gallon Stainless Steel Ball Lock Cornelius Kegs

Four tap keezer here and 10 kegs. I only have two fermenters but usually have at least one full all the time, and transfer into a keg for storage if there's not room in the keezer yet. I keep my wife happy by having one keg full of beergarita for her. The beergarita isn't anything that's...

    purchasing corny kegs

I've got about 10 cornies and while I don't care about the outsides at all (stickers, small dents, busted handles, etc ...) those jagged welds on the inside would make me nervous.

Maximum Return on Investment- The Supermarket

I'm a huge fan of the chicken leg quarters. I bought 2, 10-pound bags of them for $0.59/pound earlier this year and put them in the freezer. I made a huge pot of homemade stock that became delicious soup with some of them. We'll bake a few of them and pull the meat for sandwiches, burritos...

serving kegged beer from bottling bucket

I've done it with a 5 gallon keg in a large bucket with ice packed around it. I started with cold beer and it worked fine the entire party. I didn't have room in my kegerator for it but wanted to serve it along with my other kegs.

Ever had a peanut butter and bacon sandwich?

My girlfriend makes what she calls toasty dogs on occasion which I guess she ate growing up. Slice of white bread, slice of cheese and a hot dog. Roll it all up, stick a toothpick through it to keep it rolled, and pop it in the oven until the bread is toasted.

Lorglath's ~19Ft^3 Oak Keezer Project with Cigar Band Top

Found one in my photobucket account ... I think it was one layer on the bottom and two floating layers. I didn't completely cover everything so you'd see the bottom a bit too.

Ever had a peanut butter and bacon sandwich?

Had a lot of pb and banana sandwiches growing up (and still do) but never pb and bacon. Sounds like a winner to me. I love the mix of salty and sweet.

Lorglath's ~19Ft^3 Oak Keezer Project with Cigar Band Top

Looks awesome! I covered a small end table with the two-part bar top epoxy and multiple layers of cigar bands and it looks great. That is going to be a sweet keezer!

    Shelf spare brewing equipment

Keg O-rings and a few universal poppets. When I used to bottle all of my batches I always had an extra bottling wand on hand. That breaking, with a bottling bucket full of precious beer, would be a pain. A pack or two of US-05 yeast in the refrigerator. Not always on the shelf, but I usually...

Moisture in my keezer after installing eva-dry 500

I installed one of the Eva Dry units a while back and it has helped a lot. I do have a fan running, too. Before I'd get puddles of water in the bottom of my 5.5cf keezer after a week or two but it's been much drier. I think I plugged it in to dry it out after the first week or so, and it's been...

    Buffalo Wild Wings

I thought that commercial was hilarious - and the bratwurst beer seems like something someone would lovingly brew and document right on this site!

    New to starsan

I keep a hand-held spray bottle filled with star san and distilled water and use it to sanitize everything. It lasts a LONG time that way (although I keg, so spraying a bunch of bottles may get tedious if you do it that way)

    Weissbier Simple Hefeweizen

I've brewed this twice when I've wanted something quick to fill a keg - and because it tastes great and I can brew up a batch in a couple hours on a week night!

1st time kegging- is my line clogged????

Probably a dumb question, but did you make sure the little in-line valve near the gauge was turned back on allowing gas to flow again after you adjusted the pressure? I've done that and poured a glass and only a few ounces came out because there wasn't any gas flowing into the keg. It was...

    Thickening an already primed beer

I did this for a keg of stout that ended up a little bit wattery and it works great. The change was instant. But definitely wait until it's cooled and carbed first so you have a good baseline from which to start.

Adding bourbon soaked oak to secondary

I've used chips in the past and got some cubes recently for a planned brew. How long do you typically soak the cubes and leave in with the beer in secondary?

    Must try beers in Minnesota?

In addition to all of the others already listed, I've been enjoying Lift Bridge Brewery's Farmgirl Saison. They're out of Stillwater, MN but distribute in Minneapolis/St. Paul. You can't go wrong visiting the Muddy Pig in St. Paul. They've got a lot of selection and rotate it often. Here's...

    Milk Stout Advice

I brewed the Deception Cream Stout recipe for a recent party that calls for .5lbs and it was the top choice of the guests. Which was surprising because I thought most would gravitate to the lighter offerings I had available.
