I don't recall the price, but I've gone to a U-haul place to get a refill, too. It was pretty convenient. If you go to Uhaul's website you can print off a coupon for $1 off every refill for a year.

Those are the chrome plated version. The expensive ones others post about are the stainless steel models. The chrome models are forward-sealing, too. I have three for my keezer, but haven't been able to get them mounted yet, so can't tell you about how they work. I got mine from ritebrew.com...

Sounds like you're fermenting in a bottling bucket? I use an auto-siphon to transfer from my fermenter and it works great. My last batch was the same pumpkin ale and with the auto-siphon I could rack from above all of the sediment (and there was a lot)!
