another question for you...i used the hydrometer and got a reading which i converted with john palmer's conversation table...my gravity reading was ~1.019...what do you think?

mckbrew..do you know if you can use two mr. beer kegs, split a 5 gallon recipe in half, and fill the mr. beer keg past the line mr. beer recipe line....if it holds 2.5 gallons will that work....or could you just fill as high as you could get it and just lose the small amount of excess you'd have??
while steeping and sparging, how do you ensure you end up with the correct amount of liquid in the end...if you steep and then pour more water into the kettle through sparging...how do you make sure you have the right amount of water...i hope this question makes sense...its 3:20 in the morning...
you could always prime in the bottle as well...and you can use granulated sugar...not sure how it affects the taste since i'm new to it, but i used it for my first batch and it carbonated perfectly...
you can buy regular bottles, one liter plastic bottles, swing tops, growlers, etc from mrbeer.com...i have the basic one liter plastic ones and they work great so i imagine the others would be good as well...idkid
