SO essentially you're saying they won't even be drinkable right after they finish carbing in the bottles??

    Tripel Questions:

Thx man!! I've heard the flip side also though. I drank my buddies tripel right after it finished carbing in the bottles and I thought it was great! He also only did a primary at about 3.5 weeks. How did that happen???

    Tripel Questions:

Hey everyone, Planning on brewing a tripel tomorrow. I did a 1L yeast starter today. 3/4cup DME with one vial of WLP500. Used a 1L bottle and covered it with foil. A few hours later...still no action. Will I notice anything or not?? Also, will this be enough of a starter for my Tripel...

    Yeast Starter w/ Belgian Tripel

ALSO: A secondary absolutely necessary for a Tripel? How about 3 weeks in Primary and then into bottles? I don't have a secondary and I've heard pretty fair arguments both ways. And ALSO: Is aging REQUIRED for a Tripel or can I bottle it 3 weeks after primary and drink after carbed? I know...

You are amazing man!!! Assuming I already bought that lb of rock candi sugar, what would you alter if I want to use it so it doesnt get wasted?

    Belgian Golden Strong

Fascinating info! Thank you. Should I either cut a lb or so of the extract and add 1lb of table sugar or could I just leave everything the same and THEN add the 1lb of table sugar? I agree on the dryness, however I also want a beer in the 9-10%abv range....Fairly new to this, thoughts...

    Belgian Golden Strong

Oh! And here's my recipe...thoughts??? Made this myself. What would my ABV end up at? Add another LB of table sugar?? 6lbs Pale LME 3lbs Pilsen DME 1lb Candi Sugar Grains (Partial Mash): 10oz Belgian Pilsner 4oz Belgian Aromatic 2oz Carafoam Hop Schedule: 60min 1oz Cluster 15min .5oz...

THIS is exactly what I keep hearing....with that said, why do I continue to hear they need to be aged?

    REALLY concerned

    I wouldn't know...I used a bucket as stated above.

    REALLY concerned

I agree that this seems far too light, however it also doesn't make any sense. Heres some more details: I steeped the grains at 150 for 45 mins. It was a definite deep amber color, right in line. Did a 3 gallon partial boil. Added 9.15lb Pale LME and 1lb DME. The color in the kettle when...

    REALLY concerned

It tastes like it looks....light, and not like a 90 min IPA.. I followed this recipe very thoroughly, and with all that extract Im having a hard time understanding how it got this color... Also, its got a slight carbonation to it. HOW? Haha is it possible all the goodies, flavor and...

    REALLY concerned

I hear everything you're all saying but doesn't this seem even TOO light, even considering those aspects?? Its literally the lightest yellow on the planet with some clouds...
